Hey guys. About a year ago I posted about this at the MH forums titled, "My Shoulder/ Tricep workout". Well, it turns out this workout is very burtal on the shoulders. Two of my friends have seperated (or was it dislocated? which ever is worse...) their shoulders because of it. I need to figure out how to adequately warm up my shoulders to be able to perform these tricks. I do all my rotator cuff exercises in the gym, however, I need something to do before watersliding when I can't stop by the gym. Here are the pics, im in the red shorts. Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't have any advice, but aggressive watersliding looks like a blast! I've never seen anybody do that.

I hate to be a jerk but im sorry, thats just lame. I really do hate alot of the world today, for the fact that everyone tries to make EVERYTHING extreme.. Extreme sports this and that, its ridiculous...

I mean come on seriously, extreme watersliding?
Am i wrong to be saying this?

I am sure its difficult and probably fun, but its so ridiculous. I really do have an overwhelming hatred for this kinda stuff..

Thats cool man. I actually did a persuasive speech the other day in my speech class on why it should be in the X-GAMES. Maybe if you saw some of the videos you would feel differently. OH yeah, Thanks for answering the question.

Ryan,
Looks like you lost your mat on that one. LOL

I don't know that there is anything you can do to actually prepare for something like that but certainly the shoulder maintenance that you do in the gym is a good way to go. I would definitely do a general warmup with some pushups, arm circles, etc. before sliding, just to loosen up a bit.

Just curious. I can't see your pics nor your avatar. There is just a little white box with a red x in it. Anyone know why?

When you looked, the web site containing the URLs may have been off line.

Dunno John. It's always that way. I'll try from home. Maybe it's something to do with the filters here at the office. Thanks.

Look at some o-lift warmups.
Shoulder dislocates with a broomstick.
Handstands against a wall.
yoga - down dog

In your training you should be doing the o-lifts as well as overhead sq. Push-press and jerk.

Overhead walks for time as weighted gpp.

good luck,
Jerry

No one I know has actually fallen off the side. Way more people have gotten their shoulders busted. One time in Las Vegas they had a similar slide at wet n' wild but it was on stiltz WAY up there kinda like:

And that was pretty scary. It was not allowed and I got yelled at by a huge security guard.

Thanks for the tips too Jerry!

Cool shots, CA - looks like a blast. You're either gonna get huge shoulders doing that or end up in a body cast.

There is a whole gallery of us http://68.6.62.91:81/~importxdream/album07 But like I said, many of us have gotten our shoulders hurt one way or another. I wanted to make this summer as injury free as possible. Got some great tips on it too, thanks
