Which would you rather have?
Sorry didn't know how to do the poll thing!
Which would you rather have a personal trainer or a personal Nutritionist?
I'm not a real experienced lifter but to me it seems like the nutrition part of changing your body is even more important than the lfiting. I personaly would rather have somebody that could tell me what and when to eat, and I would rather pay somebody to cook for me than somebody to train me. But I guess it'a a mute point since I can't afford either!!
I see JB is coming to the retreat, God I wish I could some!
This whole nutrition thing and the tming of when and what to eat is like mad science to me!!

Definitely a personal nutritionist imo. A personal trainer is only useful for a couple of sessions to help you get the form down on lifts you're having trouble with, after that he's just there to shout at you :/
A personal nutritionist however, can make your life much easier because you don't have to worry about cooking, which, to me at least, is the hardest aspect of the whole fitness thing especially 'cause I'm not that much of a cook
Having someone cook for you will save a lot of time as it provides the end-result without the time and effort it takes.

its so hard to get your meals perfect with the lives most of us have. I can get the motivation from inside and the advice from reading and this board, but as far as the nutrition it would deffinitely help to have someone help me out..dont get me excited

does a nutritionist actually cook?
but anyway yeah id go with that to...imo personal trainers r almost useless unless ur completely new to training and many times seem to be kinda stupid to me
a nutritionist on the other hand tailers a diet to meet ur exact needs and that would be insanely helpful

For me personal trainer. I do all my own nutrition through research and take care of that end no problem. With a personal trainer there judging my evaluations monthly and knowing where I am doing well and where I need more work and what I can do to get there I think it helps alot. What really helps is someone getting those last reps out of you that alone you either could not or would not do. Personally I tend to quit before my muscles do, so for a person like me a PT is golden.

The Nutritionist/Cook, for me.
That way my wife wouldn't have to worry about what I eat, compared to the rest of the family.
She's got enough on her plate, as it is. Anything that would free up her time for more important things is good for me.

bumping this old thread.
have any of you ever used a sports nutritionist? believed him/her to be helpful and provide more/better information or assistance than you could get on your own (reading books, etc.)?
thanks!

I love to cook and I know what I am supposed to cook so for me it would be the trainer. I would love to get pushed every day and have someone keep the books as well as the stopwatch. Just cant swing the $200 a week that it would cost me for 4 day a weeks of lifting.

Responding to a three year old thread and made to look silly.
Happened to me when Ron Price blew through and bumped an OT garderner thread.

my bad, Cynic. I posted a new thread after the confusion ( any success with a nutritionist? ) because my question wasn't really as directly related as I thought. Sorry about that.

Don't worry about it. I got caught responding to a couple OLD threads someone bumped and it's always good to see others do the same. It means I'm not so alone in my inattentiveness afterall.

He did say he was bumping an old. Now responding to a comment made 3 years ago is different.
