I just looked at cheaptickets.com and they have some from houston for under $200... but there is a connecting flight. The direct flights are a little over $200.... still a great price!!

Ya know, if its cheaper to fly to Houston or a surrounding area, then maybe we can carpool to such areas and either all chip-in for a rental car or if there are any members willing to drive from those areas, then we could hook it up with them.

I depends if you have more time than money, or more money than time.
The lucky ones have enough of both, and the unlucky ones are screwed, I guess.

Hows the food situation out there? I eat a lot so I need to make sure there is some nutrition close at hand to maintain the jackedness

houston is about an 8-9 hour drive, so not sure it would be worth a flight+roadtrip from there. Dallas is closer <6hrs. memphis is cool and has more direct flights and about 2.5hrs. Nashville is about 6hrs too. Usually it ends up being cheaper to come directly to LR.

IF I attend (more likely than not), it will fares and schedules out of both locations. I'll be adding some dollars onto air miles, so the cost should be the same, but the flight options/availability might be an issue, from what I'm told. Generally, I fly out of Duluth.

Are there any good road trip stops between the two places. I love a good road trip.

I'm still planning to drive/ride from Charlotte, mostly on I-40, so if anyone needs a seat along the way, I'll have one open. You just have to throw your luggage in the bed of the truck (looking less and less likely that the Harley will be making the trip).

I have no idea. The locals need to fill us in with that info. AR is one fo those states that Ive just always skipped over in my travels (maybe theres good reason for that).

I hope you're staying longer to get in more visit. Otherwise, that's a lot of money for JP's little 'ol summit. Might was well see the Grand Canyon and stuff.

That reminds me of my story of my first time to AR, back in 1990, I think...
My friend and I had been driving all day and we needed to stop and stretch our legs. Maybe get some food and a beer. We pull off at a local little town and head to a little bar/restaurant that looks okay.
We go in and are greeted by a couple of homely women with friendly calls of "Hi boys!" Things like that. I head to the restroom, while my friend goes to a table. When I come out of the bathroom, I notice a small crowd around my friend and head over. It's pretty loud over there, and the look on his face is a cross between laughter and horror. Our eyes meet, which tells the crowd, which is all homely ladies, that I'm back. They turn, and with calls of "Fresh Meat! Fresh Meat!" head my way.
Suddenly, I'm surrounded by a herd of these women, frantically grabbing my crotch and ass, hooting and hollering "Fresh Meat! Fresh Meat!" Screeching, if you will.
Somehow, we get to the door, smiling and laughing our way to safety, back to back, all while we're being pressed, grabbed, and groped. "Fresh Meat! Fresh Meat!"
We break for the truck, but the women stay at the door, calling us back. However temping, we leave, not stopping until we are out of state.

Roland, when you have a fantasy, you ARE allowed to, shall we say, finish it. You don't have to pretend that you left the bar.Man, the things those Californians imagine. LOL
