I've been asked recently why my stomach isn't even. My usual response is that it's my genes, but looking back at some old pictures I think it might be something else. Here's a recent front shot: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...mom/frontb.jpg

Notice how the top left side of my abdominals seems to merge into one. Would this be a product of genetics or a lack of muscle? If there's anything I could do about it, please let me know. Also, notice my collar bone. If you draw a straight line from one shoulder to the other it's a bit slanted. Doctor said I might have minor scoliosis, and I'm getting that checked soon, but I would like to know if that could be the cause of my uneven stomach.

Thanks in advance.

Well first of all I have to say you've got a great physique! Looking like that is my short term goal...
And to the topic, your abs actually look fine except one 'column' is slightly above the other, which I'm gussing is what causes the merge.
About the scoliosis thing that's a very interesting question because I have that problem too, about 10 degrees actually and my abs are just all over the place, and I also have that kind of murge at the top. Do you also feel the top two are a little bit softer than the rest?

Your abs look great! Stop looking at yourself so closely. What you could use though is to add another 10-15lbs on your frame.

Hey guys. Thanks for the clarification, greatly appreciated. I'm assuming now that everyone with scoliosis will have slight abnormalities with the rest of their bone structure/muscle.

Simon, my middle section has always been harder than the rest. The top two aren't jelly soft, though they are slightly softer than the middle.

Rip, I've been trying to gain weight for a while now. But I'm not sure what I should concentrate on to see the fastest gains. Maybe you guys could help me with this.

Our resident nutrition guru on this board is named John Williams (a.k.a. Johnka). His abs are also uneven, and I would love to have the same "problem" with abs that looked like that.

Bottom line: don't worry, just be glad the abs are so visible and defined. And if you want to learn how to put on muscle, you're in the right place. Stick around and read more threads from some of the great people here. Welcome!

Just looking at your food selection, I would say drop the pizza and add some more veggies. It would be better it you listed what you ate at every meal...

meal 1:...

pre-wo....

etc
