,or otherwise known as simply GVT. Has anyone tried this? Does it seem practical? I'm not speaking of the original method of 10 sets per exersize for 10 reps, I'm speaking of the newer version constructed by Ian King which uses 4 exersizes per bodypart, 3 compounds for 3 sets and 1 isolation exersizes for 1 set. On all exersizes you attempt to hit 10 reps on every set. When you can hit 10 reps on every set then you up the weight and start over. Something like,
Bench pressx3
Incline Pressx3
Decline Pressx3
Fliesx1
Anyone ever try something like this?

yes, I do it for a change up every so often. it provides and unbelieveable pump. My friends do it before competitions. We usually do 10 sets of 10. We don't stay in the cycle for very long because the weight is too low.

Are you referring to the article on T-mag called German Volume Training 2000? I think in the article it references Ian King, but it doesn't say its his program.

Anyways, I do use a similar approach often, but use 4 compound lifts and 4 sets of 6 (96 reps vs. 100 reps). I find that I get pretty good gains in strength with this, but for me working out to failure on most of the sets requires me to pay close attention to my recovery, as sometimes I will need to add in extra rest days, reduce the volume, or mix in a week of speed work. I also will replace one exercise every two weeks with another.
