So I had just finished up with some power cleans at 135, and I went to take one of the plates off. Feeling pumped, looking foward to the rest of the workout, and...BAM, plate catches my thumb between the bar, tearing a good chunk of skin off my thumb and getting blood on my shirt. Well...needless to say that sucked. Hurt like hell, but I wrapped a paper towel around it, wound some masking tape around that and went and did some pull-ups. Kinda threw me off for the rest of my workout though...

Anyways, I thought it would be interesting to see what injuries you all have sustained while training. Any goodies?

Creaky knees. Every rep of every squat they creak and crack like crazy. It's loud. Have had the callouses and blisters and such, but notihing serious.

Did something similar to my pinky finger between two plates, it bled through a ton of band aides. I also bashed my chin with an axle in my last strongman contest. Besides that not much.

Knuckles,
Hope you heal fast...

Mishaps:

A classic -catching my chin with the bar during a push-press..a nice gash, sore jaw and stars.

Even better? - changing the plates after a heavy deadlift - bent over, then standing up only to catch the back of my head on a power-rack pin...buckled my knees, blood, gash.

Topper? Home-made lat pulldown machine at age 18. Took a bar and bent it - drilled a hole in the middle, ran an I-bolt through it, attached a wire, ran it through a pulley in the ceiling to the floor with rigged up weights.
Doing pulldowns behind the neck - wire snapped - yanked the bolt smack dab through the top of my head...nothing like a good head wound.

I have a few keg tossing stories I'll save for another time!

Jerry

Hitting my jaw when doing a jerk, that hurts more than a push press (which I have done as well).

Man, hitting my knee on some random bench, that hurts and really ticks me off.

Oh, slipping off a board press and almost hitting my face. That sucked, my wrists bent back and threw me off, the bar hit the boards, started sliding to my face and hit it but I stopped most of the momentum and my partner caught it as well. That day sucked.

Other than that nothing major.
