I am currently on phase 6 of HGM and i have heard alot of good things about S2B so i got the book. I want to put on some more mass, I am currently 22 years old 6ft tall 175lbs 7-8% bf. I want to finish HGM, but i dont want to wait through 4 more phases before i start trying to bulk up. Would it be as benificial to follow the diet plan in S2B with the HGM workout?

This doesn't help you at all, but I just started HGM last week and was wondering what you have thought about the first 6 phases?

Trey, what type of progress have you made during your time on HGM?

Just eat more during HGM. I am on Phase 10 and I used phases 7 and 8 to bulk. I gained about 10lbs. I am using 9 and 10 to cut. Then I have not decided what to do after this month. I might try a traditional bodybuilding routine then go to S2B in the fall. I am close to your size I am 6'1 190 18% and hopefully be down to 185 or lower after this month. Goal for the summer is to be 10-12%.

Trey, 3 weeks ago I was in the exact spot you are now. I had just finished Phase 6 and was debating whether to start S2B or continue with HGM.

I actually made the switch. They're both great programs, but the final deciding factor for me was the simple fact that S2B got me excited about working out again, and I was at a point in HGM were my motivation was starting to waiver.

I would agree with the others, though, and say stick with HGM if you are enjoying and getting results from of the workouts. Otherwise do what you feel is best to keep you energized about lifting!

As far as the diet is concerned, I think the S2B diet would be appropriate for anyone looking to bulk no matter what program you are on.

McCarley i liked the first 5 phases (only a week into phase 6) im alot stronger on alot of exercises. The only thing i didnt like was that at the end of phase 3 i could bench 225 eight times now in phase 6 i can only do 205 9 times so i think i lost a little strength on bench press but i have gotten stronger on everything else.

Phitz one problem with quitting HGM right now is i have a workout partner thats been doing it with me and hes not exactly trying to bulk up also hes likes the HGM series were doing so i dont want to leave him high and dry.

Thanks for you input on HGM.

As far as what you were asking about I say stick with HGM for two reasons:

#1 - you started the program with the intention of completing and have not yet reached that goal. Goals are important. Complete what you start.

#2 - you may loose the benefits in store for you in the final phases of the program. I'm sure the guys who wrote did it the way they did for a reason, not just to take up a few more months of our time.

Good luck, and again thanks.
