I'm particularly interested in hearing Danny's comments since this stuff is right up his alley! I've never seen a deadlift done like that before but 1010 lbs is pretty freakin' awesome!
I actually train with one of those guys. The 6th place finisher Dave Ostlund. Hearing stories from him is awesome. The guy who pulled 1010 is pretty insane. He is intense to say the least.
The most impressive thing there is the Brian Schoonveld axle clean and press video. He hits a world record lift and then does it 4 more times just for fun. How messed up is that!

how is the drug scene with these individuals. i'm just curious. I mean is steroid use and Hgh common practice among these guys? do they hold non drug events etc. because what they do is impressive with or without enhancement.

They don't test at all. As to what each guy is using, I have no idea. I know that a couple of the guys have used prohormones, including the guy I train with, but besides that I can't say much.

The part I like is where he rests it on his belly!
How much was that guy pressing?
and yeah, he definitely got the assist from his belly on that
Thanks for the link Q, good stuff.

You GOTTA take a look at the recipes section of that website. I can't argue with the results... but tuna and OJ shakes???
Orange Tuna Shake
OK you muscle maniacs, it's time to buckle down and try your first tuna shake. Sounds gross doesn't it? Don't knock it until you've tried it. If your trying to lean out pronto this simple and cheap concoction is just the ticket.
2 cans drained Tuna.
2 cups orange juice.
Add one can of tuna to blender with the O.J.
Pulse the O.J. and tuna at low speed for about 15 secs. After the first can is in liqiud state add the second can and pulse for another 15 secs.
Increase speed to liquify and blend about 45 secs.
Serve in your favorite beverage container and enjoy!
I saw both Schoonveld and Haugen at the American Championship (along with Phil Pfister, Mark Phillipi, Chad Coy, Brian Neese, and others). Chad, Brian, and Schoonie have all trained together at Chad's gym. It's quite a site to see. I think Schoonveld has probably gained about 30 pounds since I saw him a couple of years ago which is scary 'cause he was huge before. Haugen is impressive 'cause he doesn't look all that impressive up close but he's F-ing strong (and he's much older than Q!! )
Q - Thats nothing. You should hear about the stuff Dave Ostlund eats (or in some cases used to eat) Tuna and Potato shakes, or raw beef and eggwhite shakes, crazy stuff like that. Some of these guys will do anything to gain weight.
JP - It would be a lot different to pull on a lever like that. Still a cool lift, but not a regular deadlift.
Bill - I am eating! Up to a steady 195 these days. And yeah, Schoonie is huge!
