Default CW Total-Body Training and Biotest

Hey I mostly go to t-nation to find training programs. I'm planning on doing Chad Waterbury's Total-body training for the next 8 weeks and was wondering what you guys on here thought of the program. I'm also planning on buying some Surge, Metabolic Drive, and Grow protein from their site. I realize that you guys aren't big fans about some of the stuff T-nation puts out and rightfully so. It is a company trying to sell its product. Thats why I am asking you guys what you think of the program and these supplements I plan on buying so I can get a non-bias opinion.
The workout can be found here http://www.t-nation.com/readArticle.do?id=508031

The workout is pretty decent, but nothing magical. I've done it before and gotten bigger and stronger. Put in the effort and eat enough and you'll grow.

On to the supplements.

Surge is a complete waste of money in my opinion. You're paying a huge markup for protein and sugar. Don't buy the hype, there's absolutely nothing magical about it. Any combination of carbs+protein will work post-workout, solid or liquid food, it doesn't make a difference.

Metabolic Drive and Grow are just plain protein powders. People seem to like the taste more than other proteins. You don't need them to make progress, they're just convinient forms of protein. These aren't that bad of a buy.

The program is a good one.

Biotest supps are really really expensive. If you can afford to throw away a bit of money then do it, they are probably good products, although no better than any other protein powders.

I prefer some Milk, maybe some meatballs, or tuna, pretty much the \"Just fuckin eat\" approach, saves alot of money. Although I probably would buy some protein powder if I had some more cash.

I recommend true protein as being easier on the wallet.

Surge tastes good, but I hear nothing but good things about the orange cream, strawberry cream and banana flavors.

And it's about $1 less per pound than most other proteins out there.

It's a good program. I've done it before and loved it. I've gone back to it too. I happen to like Surge and Metabolic Drive. I agree which everything PA said. I know there's nothing magical about Surge and that other, less expensive options provide the same nutrition. But I think both of those just taste good. I'll pay for that.

I have done the program and liked it. Chad puts together some pretty solid workouts. I have not tried any of the Biotest products, so I cannot comment on them. I tend to keep things simple with ON Whey Protein for a workout shake and real food the rest of the day.

I am in the middle of week 7 of the TBT program and I love it. The randomness designed into it is helping me keep motivated and not getting bored with the same routine everyday.

I have not tried any of the Biotest products. Being in the procurement profession I have a tendency to buy low bid where quality is not in question.

I've also done several of Chad's programs and always gotten results and enjoyment out of them.

I use low-carb Metabolic Drive with cottage cheese for some pre-bed pudding snacks or a mid-round shake for golf outings, but haven't bought Surge or Grow whey.

Chad puts out some solid material. My GF bought me Muscle Revolution. I started on his BBB workout....damn, in a month I've doubled my amount of pullups and have dropped 8#.

I use ON or Bio Fortress wheys, whatever is cheap. I've been trying to eat "real" proteins instead of wheys but it's not happening (I can drink a shake at 4:30am, there is no way I can eat an egg or cheese then).
