Default Overhead DB Reverse Lunge

Question:

On the Overhead DB Reverse Lunge, do I raise the dbells up each time I lunge, or leave them overhead for the duration?

Thanks,
Deb

It could be done either way. If you're doing a specific program, then the creator of the program might have one version or the other in mind. You'd have to specify the program. If you're not doing a specific program, then I'd guess that the DBs would be held up the whole time. I think I'd have named it reverse lunge with overhead press or something similar if I wanted you to lift and lower the DBs.

Leaving up overhead the whole time is better for building core stability and shoulder stability.

You can leave it up the whole time or you can do a shoulder press each time you lunge. Leaving it up the whole time works on core stability and shoulder stability.

Thanks all, I talked to my trainer, and he wanted me to hold the dumbbells up, elbows locked, for the whole time. Yeah, it was awesome!

Barbells, seriously?

I read in your log that you're training with Tony! Awesome! Tony's a great trainer. You know how to pick 'em right.

Lisa,

Yeah, two barbells! My bad. I meant dumbbells of course! Nice catch.

Tony G. is great. I can pick em for sure!

Now where did I put my barbells?
