I don't have a seated rowing machine like at the gym.
But I do have this glider rower.
The seat glides forward and back and the handles go forward and back.
What would this be good for? Back- shoulders- nothing other than heart rate?
that's a cardio machine, it's not for strenght training, like the seated row is.
And I can't believe your gym doesn't havea seated row machine.. because that's pretty standard equipment.
oh sorry about that. Well rowing is good for cardio, but it won't give your back a lot of strenght training (only if you have a very weak back) do you have a barbell or dumbell with some weights at home? You can use that and do bent over rows to strenghten your upper back.
The main purpose of the machine is cardio. There will be some additional benefits like any rowing motion in your traps rhomboids and biceps. But ideal strength/size gains will not be made with it. It'll be mostly muscle endurance benefits. If you have dumbells or a regular bar at home just substitute the machine row with bent over rows.
