Building a stronger mind/visualization?
May be kind of an odd question, but..
Are there any books out there that talk about how to build a stronger mind, or to teach the use of visualization to achieve their goals? It is something that i've kind of been interested in reading about.
I know that some people, like Phil Phister, use this sort of visualization to put their mind at ease, and to imagine them completing lifts.
Is anyone familiar with anything like this? gayla? milko?

You might want to PM Chaney Weiner. He seems to focus on that aspect of training.

Have you read Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins? It's an old book but I think he writes about visualization to imporve performance. My favorite motivational book is See You at The Top by Zig Ziglar.

Check out the self-help section, or the psychology section at your local bookstore.
There are a bunch of books on this topic.
The book I mentioned both in my log and in the lists thread in off-topic touches on visualization and affirmations. Although it doesn't (or hasn't so far) speak specifically on improving performance, most of the stories/examples given are athletes (Olympics).

Thanks UpNorth (I don't know your name).
Also, we are launching our teleseminar series on January 14 that deals with this. Go to the link in my signature. The first call on January 14 is with Dax Moy.

I am a keen believer. Doing what I wish is the key. That way the reality is supported by mind and soul. Transforming the will to wish is another key.

I always spend the first few seconds (maybe 20-30 sec) on all my lifts, visualizing the lift I am about to do. I mentally count the reps that I plan. and then I proceed with the lift. Taking a few seconds to prepare myself helps me to be more focused and makes the lift more intense for me.

Tom Venuto had an interesting editorial on visualization in one of his recent newsletters.
