Default How to do rack pulls at home?

I've heard/read several times in the past week about how great rack pulls are. Trouble is, I don't have the right equipment to do them at home. The lowest the pins on my weight cage go is just below my waist. Are there uprights I could get for this purpose, or does anyone have a low-tech solution? Or should I just not worry about it and use alternative exercises?

You can pull off any kind of block or homemade support that will hold the load on your bar. You could build boxes (and then use them as plyo boxes too), or just stack up 2-4 45lb plates on each side and set the loaded bar on those.

Thanks! I like the idea of building some boxes that could double as plyo boxes.

I use adjustable automotive jack stands. Of course it helps to some unused ones laying around the shop.

boxes are actually better then rack pulls. the bar 'flex' feels way more natural off of box's.

Make sure that the boxes have a lip or something. Hundreds of pounds rolling off of boxes can be dangerous. Run. Don't try to catch it.
