Default A little help

Recently I have been helping my dad out with getting back into the swing of excerising again. He is just recently off a rough month of health set backs. First he had a stint place in his major artery. He then had a health set back when he had lacerations on his espogagous. I actually had to call 911 to get him rushed to the hospital. This all happened in the month of September. But now he is recovering and going to cardiac rehab. Is there any excerise routine that anyone would recommend? He has been running 2 miles every other day and lifting lightly. By lightly I mean he does say excerises 2x10 or 12 reps. It is extermely light weight. For example he does the excerise tricep over the head with a Dumbell with only 15lbs. So is there any plan or set of excerises that he could get into.
Any information would be helpful.

I feel good helping him out because it feels like I am a trainer.

I would probably wait to add or change anything to his exercise program at this point. He probably needs to go through the phases of cardiac rehab first to get him to back to some level of "normalcy." Also, without knowing all the issues with his health, I would imagine that they are being pretty conservatice from many reasons, i.e. avoid a high blood pressure response, etc. I would wait until he finishes, recovers, and then receives some sort of clearance from his MD.

I have to agree with the above. I think if you were a working trainer and he came to you as a stranger with his fitness levels and with that history, you'd ask him about clearance from his MD, you'd probably want to talk with the cardiac rehab folks to make sure you anything you prescribed would be complementing them not conflicting with their goals, etc.
