Hey Roland....yup, this has changed drastically from the initial challenge. But hey, more guys, more competition, more stress, more motivation, more fun overall.

I still say we go with posting final pics on 7 Jul. that is exactly 6 months from the start day.

and I still think we should abstain from voting, and just leave it up to the opinions of the forum members, who would be completely inbaised, with JP as the deciding vote in a tie. If we were to vote ourselves, it might get "messy" perhaps?

Why don't we just post a "poll" thread with our final pics and use that as the judgment?

I don't know the details of how it works, or if you can vote twice on a thread like that. It seems like it would most certainly eliminate a tie, considering how many people will have exposure to the voting.

Like Upnorth, I'm not in on this but want to wish you all well in the challenge. I got into fitness doing a challenge a few years back and it was great motivation and great camaraderie. Best of luck attaining your goals, guys and gals!! I look forward to following along.

Sounds like fun. But joining up would be like Kramer joining a Contest. It will be fun to watch. Good luck to all.

Alright guys, since I've lifted today, feel good, haven't been around in awhile, coming off an injury, feeling a little feisty, yada yada yada......I'm going to start the trash talk with the following:

All of you are going DOWN!

Of course, this threat will mean nothing once all of you check out my new and improved man boobs, which have been perfectly developed over the last 6 months!!

Here we go boys, it's going to be a great 6 months!

Makes sense to me to not vote. Or using an alias user name to vote...

I'm voting for the guy who looks the best. Even if it's not me.

Is anyone setting up an official thread or anything in the journals? Sticky it at the top maybe?

I'll be setting one up shortly. I've been trying to come up with a clever name, but I have a cold and feel lousy. Cleverness escapes me at the moment.

I'll get something up by tonight!

$20 to play, (that's on the low side of friendly betting and still equals a pretty nice payout for the top 1/2/3, how ever you want to split the end). It looks like I'll be the designated holder of the cash. Neil did the paypal with no problems. A couple guys preferred mailing checks\MO. Get with me and we'll work something out.

Maybe if we ask real nice Roland will fire up a new thread for us in the "Training Journal" section and those of us that have the pics\measurements already done can go ahead and put them up. After one or two guys are out there for the world to see, the rest of the folks are going to realize that they're in good company and have no reason to feel bashful\ashamed...at least compared to the rest of us fatties.
It's on bitch.

since you have no chance of winning, you shouldn't be nervous

Remember the rule for judging....the one who shows the most improvement. My body is at the bottom; I've got no where to go but up. I shall be the winner.

So a whale could come in here and lose 100 lbs and still be fat and win?

huh?

I'm only shooting for 15 lbs.

Absolutely. Someone losing 100lbs is a lot more commendable than someone losing 15

That could happen, but since it's voted on, you can campaign and spin things to make yourself sound even better.

People know it hard to lose those last few lbs. If you go from plump to six pack, people will be impressed at the improvement.

I won't say losing 70lbs was easy for me, but it was easier than this last 10 or so pounds of fat.

It's like American Idol. The best singer doesn't always win.

Well said Roland. The best improvement will have to be demonstrated, by photos, and body measurements.

Gosh, I don't believe I just sent $20 bucks to a guy I don't even know, to publish near naked pictures of me that I wouldn't even allowed printed, on a website read and viewed by many around the world. What the hell have I done.....oh well, there's no turning back now. I'm in this all the way now.

Reminds of a scene from the old Star Trek series...

Mr. Spock: "Mr Scott, you've done it now."
Scotty: "Aye Mr. Spock. the Hagis is in the fire now."

Thanks to Globbla for his help with collecting the money and with his help posting the pictures for me. I will add my measurements and details in a posting Monday morning.

Good luck everyone!

Well, today's the day. Gosh I can't beleive all the excitment I started with just a simple challenge.

The way I see it right now, I'm the winner. Since I posted this challenge, almost 40 gals have joined in on their own thread, and I'm not sure of the head count for the guys, but I know it's over 20. Thats over 60 folks who have seriously committed to making their life better. The best prize I could ever hope for.

Good luck to all.
