I am currently half way through my 5 rep cycle on HST and I think I will try the big 5 after the SD (week in Jamaica). Would Rom. deads be better than standard deads? I was thinking squats and reg. deads would be too much strain on the legs. Would it be ok to do 5x5 3 days a week? Is there any other exercises that can be added without over training? I guess you can tell that I'm a rookie at this. I did the HGM through phase 5 but I dumped it for HST, just thought it was hard to stay with HGM as deigned in the crowed gym I go to.

You should probably do RDLs if you are doing squats. Don't fret about being a rookie... You have the right idea. Good luck on your program.
