Default The Women's Squat Chart

Again, just like the Deadlift Chart, here is the place for the Women to post 1-rep max squat efforts. We'll have two categories: Oly-style (ass-to-grass) and Powerlifting-style (just below parallel).

So, post your bodyweight on the day of, the squat itself and type, and any goal you'd like to list!

I'll tally up the rankings once a month (first weekend) and post. The first set of rankings will be posted next Sunday.

I haven't done back squats a little over a month. The last time I did:

175 at 128 pounds (1.37). Powerlifting for 3 reps

This morning I front squatted 140# for 2 reps at 128 pounds (1.09)

Whenever I mentioned it, it was after Paula had a PR lift but she didn't think it was enough to put on the main chart, since all those numbers are so high. I posted that I felt the same. I'd be excited about a lift I got, but it seemed pretty lame by comparison to the ones, mainly from men, on the chart.

I don't think anyone is trying to suggest that women shouldn't post their numbers on the original chart if they want to. You are awesomely strong, so you can compete!

You guys should list them all in order in the first post, like the original threads - which never get updated haha.

Some nice squats here though!

So, why is the first link in your spam signature to wheelchairs? Are you saying these women are lame?

Default GREAT SQUAT CHART!!

I ADMIRE YOUR DEDICATION AND EVERYONE KNOWS SQUAT IS NOT THE EASIEST EXERCISE. AS ADVICE ENSURE YOUR BACK IS PROPERLY PROTECTED AND YOU PUSH YOUR BUTT OUT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO ENSURE SUPPORT FOR THE BACK. I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF MY COLLEAGUES RUIN THEIR BACK BECAUSE OF IMPROPER LIFTS. ONE MORE THING DONT INCREASE THE WEIGHT UNLESS YOU FEEL ABSOLUTELY COMFORTABLE WITH IT.

HOW LOW SHOULD YOU GO WHEN SQUATTING?

First order of business, caps lock off please. Typing in all caps has the appearance of yelling.

When squatting, at least until the thigh is parallel, but if you can go ass to grass, or ass to ankles, without lifting any part of your foot or falling backward, you're golden.

I'm pretty sure that 7DAYFITNESS knows how to squat and that this was rhetorical at best.

Bah, even a Cynic gets suckered in now and then.

7DAYFITNESS still doesn't beat 30 min abs, though.

I've not done real (heavy) back squats in at least a year since our gym only has a Smith machine.

Hence, I've resorted to front squats as I can use the fixed wt bb rack for those.
Highest wt sofar was 70kg (154.2#) when I was 62.8kg (138.3#) myself: factor 1.11
Those were just regular parallel squats (can't do Oly w/o tucking in)

My girlfriend hit a nice Olympic style squat yesterday, 190lbs at a bodyweight of 154. She's 3 weeks out from her first figure show. She also hit a 145lbs front squat for 4.

I'm very proud of her.
