Default Quinoa?

Whats the deal with this Quinoa? Quinoa is hard to find and pretty expensive. So, Is this necessary in the diet or will any pasta substitute reasonably?

Default ???

Ya, I don't know? It must be an American thing, I can't get it here and have no idea what it is like to substitute. I am just eatting lots of brown rice, oats and whole grain pasta for carbs.

It's not necessary. It's just a healthy "grain."

It tastes crappy, anyway.

Ok, thanks i appreciate it... So for my P+C meals should i avoid white carbs such as white rice and regular pastas and concentrate on grains and brown pastas?

Also, I've been eating the quinoa and i don't think its awful but but i'm certainly sick of it as i usually eat it with pesto. Are there other sauces or toppings you guys use to make carb meals more flavorful?

Yeah. Go for the brown rice and whole grain pastas.

P+C meals are easy. Pasta with pasta sauce and lean beef or turkey (or turkey sausage). Brown rice and stir fried veggies and meat.

You can pick up low fat cookbooks on the discount tables and just sub in whole grain version of the carbs.
