Is there something more to him than his circus act?
Uhh...yes, lots. I saw him recently and he didn't do a single thing like that himself during the seminar. He focused on passing along great info and getting us better. I've been lifting KB's for 5 years and learned 3 new things in the first 10 minutes (including what I was doing wrong that led to tight hamstrings). He mentioned that although he is known for these type of feats, he wants to get away from those things.

He was a very helpful, friendly and approachable guy with lots of good information to pass along.

Pistol box squats are far more impressive. Now seeing him use explosive power out of a one leg squat up to a 30 inch box, now that is wow.

Don't know how I missed this. Was Cotter teaching kettlebell sport technique?

I'm going to a 2 day workshop led by Cotter & his kb teacher Valery Fedorenko next month. Can't wait!

He's been doing Chinese internal martial arts for decades & has an interesting approach to mobility and bodyweight movements.

He wasn't specifically teaching sport technique, but proper technique for using KB's for strength endurance (which is basically sport technique ). It was a short presentation, he was a guest presenter at a hand to hand combat training seminar I was attending.

I really want to get to an American Kettlebell Club certification with Fedorenko, but haven't been able to work it out yet. I'm sure you'll love it. I would appreciate a review after you go or a PM letting me know what you think. Is it just a workshop or the certification your going to? Have fun!

It's the AKC coaching certification, and sure I'll let you know what I think.
Cool thing is by attending you also get a complete set of the prograde bells, which would be about $1k separately. Those will be great to use with clients.

And having the chance to spend 2 days learning from Fedorenko and Cotter isn't too shabby either
