It sure helps me if the topic name lets the reader know pretty much what is the topic or question. I'm more inclined to address a topic that is about something I know I'm getting into. I'm less inclined to spend time checking out topics with provocative, cute or obscure names from which I have no clue about what the topic is about.
Not to pick on anyone, but some recent examples off the current first page of topics:
Instead of "So, about this physioball"
How about, "Question about phyioball sizing"
Instead of "Proper way?"
How about "Question about proper set/reps in HGM workout"
Instead of "Creatine and more"
How about "2 problems: creatine problems; uneven bicep development"
Instead of "Is this true?"
How about "Are barbells better than dumbells?"
Maybe I'm being a bit anal about this, but a frustration about the Mens Health site that developed for me was the enormous number of topics and, in reading the topic list, one has no idea what they are getting into with more than half of them.
I only have so much time in a day, so I'm not inclined to open a post entitled "Is this true?" It could be asking virtually anything, and could even be off topic.
But, I'm more than happy to post in a topic that asks about the possible benefits of barbell versus dumbell training (which that topic was actually about).
I'm just trying to make a helpful suggestion, so that the forum doesn't risk getting junked up and so that more people can take part in worthwhile posting and replying.
I just think that quite a number of people who could contribute worthwhile responses don't venture into those "mysterious topics".
If I'm wrong, then it'll be the third time this year.
A little clearer title would have been: " Clarity in topic naming" since all you can see on the forum page now is "How to name a" [what? kid? exercise? movie? song? what I saw of the topic piqued my interest. I had to know!!]
Just kidding Chris. Good idea, but I doubt it will help any more than our rants to stop spelling bicep as bicepts and abdominals as abz.

Man, i feel guilty . Actually, Chris.. i agree w/ ur idea, but i purposely titled the topic that way. Why? Because, i once made a topic w/ a very clear title (something about me having a problem developing my pecs muscle, how frustrated i am, & how many years have i been working on it.. yeah.. amazingly, these're ALL included in the title ), & among all the people that i was expecting to give me advices, only Lou answered me (& most of the replies came from me who kept on bumping). So i thought, maybe because the main idea of the topic was already clear enough from the title, people just don't want to come in to read more details about my problem & just skipped it. Maybe they got bored answering problems relating about chests, or maybe they just had no more idea to give me. So, again, i thought maybe i had to make the title more 'weird' to draw their attention. & guess wut, i reached more success doing it that way . It's like marketing, ..wow.

Yep, it can work just like weird marketing (which I often like); and, it surely does draw some people in. Just not me. (And, of course, I am the center of the universe. )
& doom the universe has become . But really, i like ur idea. It's just that people tend to react to favorism. They'll check on topics whose users are popular & familiar to them. The newbies & the unknowns mostly become neglected.

We can help that: offer some replies! Except compared to some of the folks here, I feel like a newbie. At MH, I was at the point where I felt I had something to offer. But here we've got to pretty expert folks around. I guess I shouldn't be so timid.

Your input is always great Chris. AND - you now have a sticky at the top of the board!

I would also suggest one not post several topics in a row, possibly after having ingested several large lattes, and particularly if everything is typed in upper case.
