Hello everyone, I'd like to quickly introduce myself and then ask a question. I'm a 6ft 2.5 inch 32 yr old FFB, married, 4 boys (I HAVE to be in shape!). I'd consider myself in 'average' condition after working out for about 6 years, 4 of those not with very good information. I've been reading the forum here for about a year and have found it very helpful.

Now for my question - I've recently purchased an AAP for the TT workouts and have launched into one of the fat loss routines as one of my goals is to get down below 10% bf. My question is about intervals - I've been pushing it with the intervals and doing more like 10-12 split between two machines - say treadmill/stairmaster or bike/rowing, using 30s work /60s recovery. I certainly am seeing results from this but also have been noticing some problems with headaches/dizziness when standing. Am I overdoing it here? Will I get better sustained results doing only the 6 intervals?

Welcome to the boards and Merry Christmas.

Short answer is Craig knows what he is doing when he designs the programs. I haven't seen the one in question but if it says to do 6 intervals you should probably do 6 and no more. You should be pretty dead after those 6 since your doing it at just about an all out effort.

What is your BF% now?

good luck with your goals!

Og.

Thanks!

As far as current BF% - I haven't had it measured but I'm guessing around 14% or so. As I mentioned, I'm a FFB - was about 230 with very little muscle and lost 60 lbs and probably what muscle I had left before starting weight training! Now back up to about 205, but it's been a slow process.

One of my challenges is not to overdo things - it's not very smart as I've learned after some silly injuries and setbacks!

are you doing a cooldown before you stop? Going from 100% to zero can dork with your blood pressure, but it should be resolved by doing 5min or so of light activity directly following the intervals.

Well - that's a good point. I'll be more diligent to be sure to always do that from now on.. Thanks!

Thanks for this, I've been careful about this over the last week or so and it has definately helped! Just finished reading 'new rules of lifting' so am being more careful about warmup as well!
