Well, I went to my sports complex for the past 2 weeks and they said they'd let me try every sport ONCE and see if I like anything then start training for it. I tried out most of the stuff and I found 2 sports that I actually like and according to the trainer I'm a natural at them. Basketball and Volleyball. However, I'm more into basketball...So I'll start training once they officially open again (It's Eid vacation here in Saudi Arabia and most of the places are closed 'til next week). I found the trainer to be actually educated in strength training. He recommended to books for me and I was shocked he didn't mention a Gold's Gym guide or anything...Here's what he recommended for basketball conditioning:
Complete Conditioning for Basketball He told me not to worry about being skinny. Base your programs from that book and eat enough and you'll perform better and get bigger and stronger. I'm a bit skeptical about it since the testimonials below come from proffesional NBA players. So, I have no idea if it's work out for me. The second product he mentioned was
Basketball Skills and Drills so I get to practice home rather than just at the sports complex.
I've been looking around as well and I found another product by 2 great authors and I wanted to ask your guys/gals opinions:
Optimizing Strength Training
P.S. I'm not going to buy the books from Human Kinetics. I'll get them from Amazon. They're cheaper there.
