hey dudes i bought this book about 3 weeks ago and i have decided to try there workouts as its had alot of good feedback.I am pushed for time to write it all but heres the chest workout i did?its pritty much the same for every other body part,eg.pre-exhaust muscles the triple drop sets for the compound movements.I must say its been a week and my protein intake has been way over what i need and i am still hurting. This workout is very odd to what i am used to but i think it might work and if it doesnt, well its all a learning experiance.Oh and i have managed to put on 10lbs in 3 weeks i am very happy now and i must say a thanks to all of you for your help this year, you all have helped me on my journey for big gains hope you all have a good christmas and some good gains next year, later dudes BULLDOG
(its in the articles section under chest sample workout)

I think you should use the pre-mades: HGM, RR&D, AoW, ABBH I & II, etc.

whys that?i want to try something different that hardly anyones doing?i find 20 rep squats are an intense a fast muscle building way of training(did them when i first started).I did this new kind of training last week and i felt good doing it,i could honestly say i put my heart and soul into that workout(more than i thought was possible for me).I did 20 reps with 319 pounds(usually do 10 reps).I feel i need to try something differant next year and i am gonna include some stuff i have never tried like (list)
*drop sets
*pre-exhaust method
*20 rep squats
and probebly many more,i feel i am now more open to new things and i worked out that there is no set way of building muscle and its just what works best for you.I am open to new ways of training if anyones got any ideas?Later and merry christmas

Bulldog, how in the hell did you find that link? It looks ideal if you want to workout & deal with hair regrowth at the same time!

why use a program designed by experts that have been tested by thousands of people accross the world and have been proven effective? because it's smart.
Are you still wanting to be a powerlifter? Any particular reason that you don't want to do Westside any more?

The reason i am not doing westside is that i am planning on going into a bodybuilding competition with my training partner in 2006 some time so i really want to do that.HA yeah the hair regrowth thing is rather off putting but i read the book and i really want to give it a go as it isnt what i usually train like, but i am sure it wont do too much harm.

If you really want to give it a go and you're sure it won't harm you too much.. DO IT!
and tell us how it works out. There have to be people who try out new stuff anyways. So if no one's forcing you, and you know your other options.. go ahead! (sorry Gobbla and Cynic..)
Anyways.. You haven't signed a lifetime contract, you can change your program if you see it's not working out.

That's ok. The world needs Capt Kirks, boldly going where no one gives a damn.

yeah...if history is any guide there's likely a number of very simular threads in the near future.
there's a certain amount of irony involved when you tell Bill Hartman that you don't need his advice or help designing a program...and a month later post the "what do you think of this?" Even MORE ironic when you consider that it doesn't matter what anyone thinks because the likelyhood of any advice being taken is slim.
ahh well. merry christmas and good luck in your new program.

GOBBLA.. there is a difference between wanting to try something and saying we don't need anything else.. Even the greatest have tried stuff on thier own before either inventing something or jumping on a bandwagon. I don't see anything wrong with that.

No problem trying new things. Bottom line is BB wants to try it and will, no matter what anyone says or thinks. He'll post a thread in a week or two how he's had the most kickass gains ever on this uber program. And after another week or two, come up with another program to re-start the cycle.
There's nothing WRONG with trying new things. It's annoying when asked for help and offer it and it's totally ignored...again...and again...and again.

Yeah haha of course i want to try it all i love to try all kinds,at the end of the day we are all learning even the ones that have been doing it all there lives.I love to try new things,i love bodybuilding, powerlifting and weightlifting or infact anything to do with iron.I live for the dam sport!!I may not take advice of people yeah but what the hell?i used to ask questions like "how do i build a program etc..) but now i only ask stuff like (add your comments)not rip me apart. This is somewhere where i ask others questions and sometimes get the advice and motivation to do what i want, but its always the same answers, its always prescribing there program thats "kickass" as you call it.I have been lifting for 1year and about 5months,i have went from 180lbs to 230lbs maybe not all solid muscle but what the hell atleast i am not a skinny kid.And when i first came to the forum i was advised by Bill yes!but at the time i had never even heard of him?i was like who the hells that?I was just confused back then i wasnt born with the knowledge to build muscle and i didnt know what to do???So i guess from now on its best that i dont ask any more questions about programs after all i should be an expert after 1 year. There are lots of experts i like to listen to out there especailly on t-nation,i always take there advice on all matters.I had already searched a number of matters especailly the 20 rep squat programs inwhich many including ian king had commented on,i like the old school programs as they are not too popular at the moment but where very effected i was kind of sick of the old 4x6 method or 10x3 as i have done that alot.Anyway no matter what i say yous will go ahead and rip it apart with some big words and bullshit,so i couldnt really give a shit.I am extremly happy with my gains and i dont think it matters what rep scheme i use i always gain anyway and if i dont then i will do something else,i am not a scientist i am just a blue collar bodybuilder in england.

"*drop sets
*pre-exhaust method
*20 rep squats"
those are probably the worst choices i know to train for size or strength.
ya i may hurt or burn or cause extreme pain while your training but muscle growth is induced through overload and the amount of overload that those 3 ways to train will induce is extremely low because you simply cannot handle greater loads.

BB, try to use better punctuation when posting. I am not trying to be mean but it makes your posts really hard to read when everything is just one big jumble of letters.

I think it was Cosgrove that said....
"It's Ok to break the rules....as long as you KNOW the rules".
Or something like that.
Oh, and NOT listening to Hartman is about as ridiculous a thing as I have EVER heard of. I will go on record as saying that Bill Hartman is perhaps the smartest PRACTITIONER I have ever had the pleasure of meeting (not to say that he isn't a scientist, only to say that he actually does this shit for a living).
peace!
