Strengthcoach.com?
Has anyone here joined Mike Boyle's new website? It's $67 to join... and appears to have some pretty good information. Audio interviews, articles, forums, etc.
I like Boyle's stuff, and some of it looks like it's a couple of notches above the normal internet article crap.
However, it's $67 for the year, so I'd like to hear people's opinions first.

I like Mike Boyle and his thought processes a lot.
At the same time, I can't see spending $67 for them, either, considering the free resources I have available.

Mike bought Ryan Lee's old Sportspecific.com site, and changed it to Strengthcoach.com. I agree, Boyles stuff is good, but $67 is a little steep. If I remember right they have a $10 per month option (which is more than $67 if you stay for a year) but also a $1 2 week trial subscription.

If you are looking to improve yourself as an athlete or improve your ability to train athletes you would be insane to pass up being a member of this site.
The massive amount of audio downloads alone are so beyond worth that price.
I hate to get infomercial on you but 6 bucks a month overall for this kind of information is a steal. When you think of how much some charge for one product that doesn't supply nearly this amount of info, you realize real quick what a steal it really is.
Plus it is Mike Boyle, someone you really can trust for solid information.

I find it interesting that people in general will gripe and moan over paying for a monthly membership to a site but yet many of these people will not hesitate to drop much more money than that on other fitness products that many never use.

Not to greatly challenge Matt's mode of thinking, but can you get $67 worth of info out of it (particularly if you can get forum dialogue, or email input, from Mike)? You betcha, I think.
That's not to say one could not get the info free with some checking into other options, per Matt's suggestion.
I think it comes down to:
1. Do you have $67 you're willing to spend?
2. The convenience of going to the one site you're paying for and getting more or less guaranteed good info and feedback there.
How many people will drop $67 on beer and food on one Saturday night?

I feel that $67 is a steal for a membership site. As for information and getting it for free, you get what you pay for...MOST of the time. In addition if a paid site is run properly, you attract the positive people you want and the type of environment you want to portray. In other words you build a community with a positive vibe. This in and of itself is worth the price one pays as a member.

LOL Chaney, you're the positive vibe guy. And nobody listens to you. Weak vibes, they have.
I think you're essentially right. Minimally, the $67 (or whatever amount) keeps out the riff raff, even if a sometimes knowledgeable riff raff.

It usually keeps out the riff raff, it depends. If someone is running a paid site and all they care about is the money then very easily you could have riff raff. Someone who charges a membership fee for a site needs to deliver and justify the price.

$67 could be a few months gym membership for some on here.. which may not be as little price as you guys make it out to be, i could use $67 right now for sure.
If you are a trainer looking for new ideas, im sure hes got lots.
If your a general lifter, I guess you have to ask yourself if its worth $67. Maybe if your not progressing with what you know now..

It depends. If, like Leigh said, you're an athlete or one who trains athletes then it is probably a worthwhile investment. If you're not then it's not.

True, that is.
BTW, I was commenting on people not listening too strongly to your comments/messages about mental matters and such. I like to hear from someone with such a positive outlook. It's refreshing, particularly given the alternative.

Tell that to sexycanadiangirls.com, sure, the intro looked good, but the overall content and updates where lacking
Someone who charges a fee should delever I agree. But unfortunatley ive been a member of plenty of 'pay-sites' (not neccesarily fitness) that have just sucked/gone under. Mike has alot to loose if his site sucks, so the odds are good it will be what you expect.

I'm not speaking for the general utility of the site or Mike Boyle's quality of information when I make my comments; I'm talking purely from a personal angle, where 1) I'd rather have $67 bucks and 2) any information I need along those lines I can get anyway.
I know Mike's the only exposure a lot of people have to guys involved in training athletes; but that's only because he's one of the very few that's made a name in this particular circle of fitness whatevers. But there are others that are only an email or phone call away.
For the record I do like what he has to say and his overall approach to things. If you have $67 to spend, and don't feel like randomly emailing/calling S&C coaches, I have no doubt it will be well spent.

Chris , I knew exactly what you were saying There have been and are some people on here who do listen and have said some nice things about it.
Thank you for the kind words

I definitely agree about many paid sites that stink. The ability to set yourself apart and run a successful paid site is the key. Anyone who slaps up a site to make a buck..it will certainly show.
