Running (My mom said I should walk briskly, my stamina will increase more because I can go at it longer and it won't be as rough on my knees)
Reverse crunches
The bicycle
Pushups
Weighted situps (Get a 15-pound dumbell in each hand, cross your chest, proceed to doing situps.... these suck, suck, suck)
Benchpressing
Vertical benchpressing (On a machine)
Legpress (Can't do it anymore, the cable's broke)
Curling
Prison exercises (It's a perfectly legitimate exercise, get your minds out of the gutter)
Tricep extensions
The Butterfly
Out of order, too lazy to re-organize them. Some guy way back when said it was the worst exercise he'd ever seen because it didn't work out my back side. Even though the way he phrased that still kind of irritates me, he has a point. Can anyone tell me how to work my back as well as I have my front? I haven't worked out since August, been too tired and shit, but now I'm ready to start again. I'm sure I've gotten a lot weaker, and since the reason I started working out to begin with was to not be weak anymore... this is really frustrating. You could even say I'm severely pissed off. =) That's why I want to resume working out and moving foward.

Dump the entire thing.
Tell mom, politely, to mind her own business.
Go to the stickies on this site and pick a well rounded routine. That is a seriously suck-laden workout.

Friendship?
...
You're not, in any way, even close to what I'd consider a "friend", and I'm not telling my mom a god damn thing. I fucking asked HER what I could do instead of running to increase my stamina without damaging my knees, and that's what she suggested. Don't be insulting towards her without knowing what the hell you're talking about.
Wait a minute, you're 56? o_o I thought you were more like 16 based on the general rudeness and bluntness, especially the usage of the "suck-laden" slang.
Anyway. This is my exercise and I'm not dumping it, so anyone who wants to try to convince me to do so - seriously. Don't waste your time. These exercises by themselves are pretty effective, and yes, I want a more well-rounded workout, which is why I posted this f'ing topic in the first place.

Dr. Casey, Relax. we are here to help you. but, we need some information first. like what exactly are your fitness goals. what are you trying to do? etc.where are you currently in fitness etc. then we can help you design something to fit those areas.

What are you trying to accomplish? What is your goal?
Stick to the basics - deadlifts, squats, bench press, pullups/chinup and dips.
Oh, Mahler is one of the most knowledgeable people who frequent this site.

Yeah, I was going to delete my post since I flew off the handle a little bit too much, but I guess there's not much point in that now with two more replies.
Anyway, my goal...
1) Increase stamina
2) Get decent-looking arms
3) Get a good-looking chest that isn't flat as a board and disgusting for me to look at
4) Be able to bench my own weight, at least
Um... I guess that would cover it.

Age? Weight? Body fat %? How long have you worked out? What's your diet like?

Dr. Casey, Mahler is a really a nice guy and very knowledgable. You just took it the wrong way.
Old guy is right and I've been following that ideology for the last 5 months. The basic six follow the paradigm of:
Upper body horizontal push (bench press)
Upper body horizontal pull (bent over row)
Upper body vertical push (dip)
Upper body vertical pull (pull-up)
Lower body push (squat)
Lower body pull (deadlift)
That's a full body workout there. You can split into two even parts, add some isolation exercises for muscle that don't get a focus (abs, calves, etc) and alternate to keep it even.

Dang, sorry about the double post. I'll be more careful. Too bad we can delete our own posts.

Honestly Casey, you're not going to get many responses after your reply to Mahler's post. Guess what? Almost everyone else on this forum will tell you that that is a suck-laden workout. Mahler just beat the rest of us to it. And trust me, Mahler isn't just any 56 year old. I don't even have to elaborate because everyone else here knows why.
"Anyway. This is my exercise and I'm not dumping it, so anyone who wants to try to convince me to do so - seriously. Don't waste your time. These exercises by themselves are pretty effective, and yes, I want a more well-rounded workout, which is why I posted this f'ing topic in the first place."
If you're not going to dump your workout, why did you even bother asking us in the first place? In your words, I don't know why i'm "wasting my time." But here's my advice to you:
-Shoot Mahler a PM apologizing for your inexcusable outburst
-Start a new thread, in which you list your:
-Age
-Height
-Weight
-BF %
-Lifting experience
-Goals
Then, we might be able to help you.

Sucks to be me, then. I might have been overly-vulgar, but the gist of my post wasn't off.

I don't consider 56 to be old at all, so I don't really know what "any 56 year old" is like.

I can do it in this thread, I'm 18, and I'll do the rest when I'm feeling less lazy.

You're a real sweet heart.
The whole no manners thing, is really cute.
The immaturity is very appealing too.
You've been given pretty good advice so far - the only way I can go better is to tell you to re-register under another screen name and try the whole "not being an asshole" approach.
Good luck with that...

Casey, it would probably be best if you asked your mommy what you should do. Based on her obviously vast knowledge of training methodology and your mastery of the English language not to mention your heartfelt polite manner of written communication, you'd be better served elsewhere.

I've been taking that approach all along, though.

I asked her for her opinion, just like I'd ask for anyone else's opinion if I felt like they knew something of the manner. Oh, and while we're busy extolling each other's virtues, insulting someone's mom over what her kid says is a very admirable trait.

Hey, I haven't been rude towards anyone who wasn't initially impolite to me.

Kevin's right. He's giving you good advice.
This is a forum where we help each other because we want to. It might "suck to be you" when no one responds because they're turned off by what's already been said.
Like Kevin, I suggest you start post from scratch, including the relevent info and you'll likely get some good info back. Also, don't give the jist of it and tell everyone you're too lazy to detail things out. I'm assuming you want detailed advice back, right? Or, do you just want the jist of the advice?
Take care,
Lost Dog

I said I'd post some detail info later, just not right at this moment.

That's twice you've said that you're too lazy. That's your problem right there. And, sorry to disappoint you, but the gist of your post WAS completely off.
