Hi...im 14 and i started setting up a small home gym..it is very low budget...i have a Weider 160 weight bench.(it is flat/incline/decline, has a lat tower, leg developer, preacher pad, and the barbell holders can rise to help with squats. I have about 100lbs in sand weights(standard), 45lbs in metal weights(standard), and 90lbs in metal weight(olympic). I also have a curl bar(std), a 6' barbell(std), and a triceps bar(olympic). I bought a set of standard to olympic adapters so i can use the olympic weights more. i have a radio down there that i am trying to hook up in surround sound....
anyone with tips for my home gym please help!
Thanx,
Doug

I think your small home gym is bigger than my workout center at the moment...I think that is depressing!
So I would offer advice, but I can't!
Maybe a physioball?

You think that sucks...I just puchased $2000 worth of equipment for my new house...
Squat Cage 83"
Lat Pulldown and low cable 84"
Actual Ceiling 83"
See my problem. Im cutting the ceiling supports up and have to box it in and reinforce it a bunch. Pretty much sucks ass...
This is the Dip station I am purchasing. It would fit perfect in your basement..

Rather than a dip station and pullup bar I would suggest a set of olympic rings, make your own for 20 or 30 dollars. Hang them high for pullups, low for dips and leg raises, and near the floor for pushups and flies. They make dips and pushups much harder as you have to keep the rings from swinging out. You can perform everything with rings that you can with a lat/power tower plus a whole lot more. And they are cheaper, easy to move, and tougher.

Just what I need...Dips to be harder
Good idea. They had a product test of these on T-mag.com Part of the T-Jack series.

what you would do is hang chain or strong ropes from the ceiling and suspend rings to it that could be adjusted to any height.

If you can , buy one of those door way chin bars. I have a really cheap one(20$) and it works great. It's in the laundry room door way, so it doubles as a great clothes hanger!

This is the dip station I got. I too have the popular low basement ceiling. I just bolt this to my Sumo Rack when I do dips, then remove it so I can to squats, etc (no curls in the squat rack, sorry )
