My soccer season ended in November. Right now i am 5'7",5"8",232lbs. My goal is to get to 200lbs by next soccer season season (July) at the latest. Just wanted to know if you guys had any advice on how to do it.

Thanks,

Look at Adam's diet in the FAQs and check out turbulence training.

Good advice. I am doing a Craig Ballantyne routine right now, and the guy knows his stuff.

And I can speaks well regarding Adam's diet. I'd add to that: don't get hung up on the pre & post workout nutrition. If you tend to easily put on weight, then you might not need the extra sugar/insulin spike. Just some milk and protein powder pre and post workout would be fine, I think.

Otherwise, it's a simple diet. Just lean meats/proteins and veggies, pretty much as much as you want, a little fruit, and grain once a day if you like it (such as wheat bread for a sandwich, or oatmeal for breakfast). Since you fill up on the lean protein and the veggies, it kind of regulates itself.

There is a technique utilised by sports coaches the world over, where by you starve your body of carbs for a period up to a month-month and a half but maintain your regular exercise. This will encourage your body to switch from using up carbs as a primary source of energy (as there arent any to use) to burning the next on the list - fats. I use this tehnique with some of my karting guys as wieght is primary. you will put on weight during that period as in replacement of carbs, you eat fats and proteins (sounds like the atkins doesnt it!!) but to avoid the lack of nutrients and micronutrients commonly felt, supplement with vitamin tablets and protein shakes. It is only for a short period of time so it will not have a major negative effect on your health, (if you are currently healthy). to speed up the process further, train to build lean muscle as this type of muscle is fantastic at utilising fats as an energy source. youll be ripped and ready in no time!!
