Let's invite Mcgill to speak at the summit. For unselfish reasons, Little Rock would be the easiest logistics wise.
For selfish reasons, I'll back Mindpower's suggestion. Australia is closer to where I am at least for the next forseeable 3 years. We can easily accomodate Ian King as a speaker.

i'm the same way. Big cities are cheaper, but if i remember, the flights to little rock weren't THAT reasonable. I'm hoping i can go next year, but i'll have to work a crapload to save enough cash.

Would be off to Canberra in a second if something like this was going down.
Always get so pumped to look into local things like this around the JP summit time, but every year just come across stuff all.
Live to dream.

I wouldn't be coming but I second Alan Aragon as a speaker. Very knowledgable and realistic views on nutrition and training.

JP and all,
I voted Litlte Rock. The main reason being that is where it all started. If I were to "ask" for another city in the US it would be LA, because it is closer. (but LA has little appeal to me.

Both these points make Lake Tahoe very unattractive for me. The most important thing for me however is the DATE. If it is set in stone early, then I actually might have a chance to attend. However, the likelihood is not that high.
The things that would interest me in attending a summit are:
1. Meeting my friends from JPs in person - this is the first priority ( i think that it probably is for most of us who DO NOT work in the fitness industry)
2. Hands on stuff. It would be great to have some kind of hands on work shop where good (but not necessarily famous trainers) could look at our form, and give tips, etc.. (basically for anyone who is not a trainer, we would have to pay $50 or so for this, so that would be a big value for us I think)
3. More hands on stuff, diagnostics- someone looking at form, testing for and pointing out imbalances, corrective stuff. (Rather than theory, I would like to have someone watch me lift and comment- give feedback)
4. More hands on stuff, someone doing clipper fat testing, teaching people how to use the calipers - that seems to be an art that a lot of people have not mastered LOL
5. Some fun competition - a chance for the boys to be boys (that is a generic "boys" and includes the "girls") Now I realize that JP would definitely NOT want a deadlift or squat competition (liability liability liability- LOL) , but I think that a "team" chin up competition (i.e. two or three teams - add the totals- winner takes all) for a round of drinks would be a hell of a lot of fun or something along those lines- and a lot cheaper than a "famous speaker"
6. Speakers: I think that for me the presentations for fitness professionals are not really something I am interested in. I would rather read a book by them if I needed this "level" of info (which I probably don't) This is not to be rude but simply there is a a lot higher "retention" rate" from the written word than from the spoken.
7. Kind of speakers: I do not really have that much interest in big names, simply because I am a fitness hobbiest, not a professional. ANY CSCS, or similar would have MORE than enough knowledge to put on a good presentation for me. (I think the presenation skills would be more important.
8. I would very much like to see Danny pull a tractor trailer. (btw, I will NOT bring a gym bag!)

Thanks Josh & Chris for the nominations to speak! The key for me is to make sure the cold ones come AFTER the presentation.
I personally would like to see this happen in Vegas or LA, for reasons none other than convenience.
Wherever it's held, I'd love to be a part of the party.

I vote for Little Rock. Good excuse for me to come home and visit the family.
Toronto would work too
I also second the keep it simple plan. One speaker and lots of hands on.

Go Little Rock Go. Go Little Rock Go. Go Little Rock Go. Go Little Rock Go. Go Little Rock Go.
And plan now to get the hotel across the street from the gym. Or plan now and get a hotel closer to the River Market but walking distance to the gym.

I liked being right next to the gym, since it's such a short walk to the River Market. But either way's good. If the hotel remembers Nick, they won't let us stay there anyway.
And I can't believe I forgot Alan Aragon. And Cassandra Forsythe too... I'm starting to understand better why JP had so many speakers last year. Tough to leave people out.

Last year the only reason we stayed at the holiday inn by the airport is that the Laquinta screwed up my reservation. If I do it in LR, I will definitely do it in the Laquinta across the street again. I agree that it is perfect having it right across the street, and helps save money.
I am close to nailing down a date, but I have to speak to a few people first. Nick, you were preaching to the choir when it comes to the number of speakers. It will be hard to top last year, but I won't try. I plan to scale back to just a couple of speakers. It allows someone to give a lot more depth anyway. Hearing Bill present for 90 minutes was almost frustrating after seeing how much we could learn with 6-8 straight hours of Bill. I won't miss the stress of trying to coordinate a small army of professionals either.
I am thinking about doing a "quick and dirty" fitness summit in Nashville in the next couple of months with just one or two speakers, so keep a look out for an announcement on that. It will be held at a gym owned by a good friend of mine. It will probably be more geared to fitness pros, aspiring pros, or people looking to open their own gyms. The one that I am obviously hosting in LR (based on the results of my poll so far) will be geared to my usual group.
