Default Whatever happen to HST?

It used to be all the rage but I haven't seen anyone mention it in ages.

Well, with t-fag "changing everything" and the rise of the circle jerk club of rising experts, desperate people seek the newest craze.

HST is just frequent, full body workouts performed using linear periodization, right? If I understand it properly (chances are good that I don't), I think the NROL fat loss programs would classify...

HST is predominantly a set of four principles

Heavy weight
Frequent loading
Progressive loading
Taking a break

The SAMPLE program has one particular setup for this, which is setup under a linear gain in load, full body and 3x weekly.
But some people use 2x weekly upper lower split, some do 6x weekly upper lower split, all variations that fit into the four overall principles.

Most good programs fit into these principles.

Jeez guys, we all know you don't like T-mag or their writers... Can we chill on them a little though? It really gets old.

It also gets old that when someone asks for a routine or a starting point that one of the most frequent responses is some of Chad Waterburys dribble.

I don't like seeing anyone slammed in here, T-mag, HST, Rugged, Bodyrecomp or anyone. If you have a better suggestion, just throw it out there. It isn't that difficult to show respect for others.

I happen to think that GQ is one of the smartest lifters on this forum (You may be sharp too, cycomiko, but I don't know you yet). I guess I just have higher expectations as a result.

I remember HST. I really liked it. I borrowed a lot from HST in my training many years ago.

The question was what happened to HST. I answered that a lot of people are now on a new trend of routines, sadly from a source that sucks.

Respect? I think that if you read enough of this stuff, you eventually get jaded or angry at the types of writers who pimp off false information, pass old concepts as their own, self dub themselves experts, hypocritically dismiss others, make themselves above critical questioning and logical explanation, and promise you magical results like snake-oil salesmen. Theres no respect for readers from people like that, and likewise, I have no respect for people who do shit like that. After reading enough, its easier to see what is solid and good, and what is just smoke and mirrors.

As far as cycomiko is concerned, theres nothing to know, hes just big and round like the Kool-aid man.
