Power snatch form critique (for real)
If anyone who knows about the oly lifts have time, please be so kind and give me a few pointers. I dont compete or anything, and i try my best to get the lifts right with just watching vids and reading articles about them.

And is it just me, or are my femurs really long?
Thanks in advance

I think you need to start with your hips a bit lower.

Your femurs ARE long...you're a tall kid. The landing doesn't look too smooth and you look down at the end. Are you wearing shoes?

no, not wearing shoes. What kind of shoes would be good for oly lifting? elevated heel, not elevated heel?
any tips on making the landing smoother? At the end, should i rather look straight ahead?

If tight on cash you can get some old school style converse all stars.
For your form...
-Really need to let out your hips more. Your squat almost seems to halt like there is a doubt in the movement.
-Look forward for balance not down. I think the looking down is part of what is making things so jerky, you aren't trusting.
I really think you could benefit from dropping the weight a little, and going really "fearless" in your full range of movement and especially your squat.

i kinda only dip as far under the bar as i have to when i catch, i try to pull it as high as possible. Since i am doing power snatches, should i try to catch it in a quarter squat even if i can pull it higher?

When I am speaking of letting it out I mean in the beginning of the movement, your set up. Your not getting that full drive from your hips so your explosive movement is hindered. In short you aren't really firing well right off the bat. Your back is too relaxed and it needs to be tighter and arched more to where that chest is popping out nicely. Also you are going a little more forward to backward instead of a tight graze upward.
Basically instead of creating a full power movement you are moving section to section. It needs to be a complete fluid movement not a jerky 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 section.
So I think you can target this just fine with doing some simple warm up work at a lower weight, getting that form perfect and then firing off on the heavier weight because you have the strength to match the weight, you just don't have the movement down. So start at the very beginning with keeping that back tighter and arched more and see if that doesn't help with a more steady powerful movement.

Typical the PSnatch and the PClean are taught in succession of high hang --> Below the Knee --> Floor. Each stage taking a couple of weeks to a couple of months. In the mean time clean pulls and snatch pulls from the floor should be done to develop the correct movement pattern.
