Default Summit 2007-Thursday Schedule

I know this has kind of been discussed elsewhere, but I thought it may be good to have a thread separate from the main one to discuss what will be occurring on thurs.

Assuming people are landing at Little Rock, what is the plan.

Straight to the hotel or JP's to register first?
Is it the shuttle service or taxi from this point?
There are various things going on in the evening, Go Karting/Baking etc, are we having a collective dinner?

These are just a few of the things that came to me whist I was mowing the Lawn, if others have any other issues/questions regarding thursday (or any other day) this may be a good, concise thread to raise/get them answered.

What time are you getting in? Does anyone know if there is a bar in the hotel? If not, I could volunteer to host a hospitality suite if I can convince the shuttle driver to stop for beer.

I don't think there is an official plan for Thursday. I'm all for trying to coordinate with the fellow attendees that are already in LR.

Neil, I suspect you're on Gabe's (Deserve's) flight out of Houston. He's arriving from Houston at 4:02. We're meeting in the arrivals lounge and/or bar then hooking up with Nick. If you can locate Gabe on the plane, you're golden.

I'm arriving at 2pm on Thursday (the selection of flight is small out of Calgary), so if anyone's around, I'll be skulking around at the hotel.

I was kinda wondering how we're all gonna meet up. But I'm not sure when we're gonna be arriving. I don't know exactly how long the drive will take. It looks like it's just a little under 500 miles. Hopefully it won't be too late though, I don't want to miss go-karting!

I think Bill is in the earliest of all of us. Do we have to call for the shuttle to the hotel?

We'll be driving in sometime between noon and 9pm. Hey, we've got two young kids in the van, this is as precise as we can get. If we arrive in the early afternoon, we were thinking of heading to JP's gym for a while. The kids had a blast there last year.

Head to the gym guys. People will show up there over a few hours, then we will all go to Flying Saucer and drink many brews together, but turn in early since we have an early morning.

I may have registration set up Thursday night, but I may just wait and check everyone in on Friday morning from 7:30 to 8:30am. How's that for a firm schedule?

The important thing to remember is that there is no real rule on this weekend but HAVE FUN! Just kick back and hang out with all your friends you've known in here for years but never met in person.

Strangely enough, it is a lot easier than people expect. Most people don't really know how that part is going to go, but once they get talking, they realize that this person in front of them is the same person who they have considered a good friend and the conversations flow.

I am so looking forward to seeing all of you guys! This event is always a huge blast.

Very true! And it's amazing how much more fun it is with real-time conversation instead of posting and waiting for a response.

Aren't you in charge of that?

I don't think the Saucer closes THAT early!

I've only been a member of this forum for about a year, but I feel like I know some of you from reading posts. I think I'll just sit back and take it all in...and listen to the conversations that are sure to be very interesting!

yeah, come on down to the gym. I'm going to be able to take some time off thursday, so in between cooking, I might be able to pick some of y'all up.

russ and galya will be hanging out all day thursday too (although russ will probably be still sleeping while most of you are arriving :p )

You're in about the same place I was last year. You're in for a lot of fun!

And for all the rest of the folks, I promise I'll be less shy this year...
