Default Why America is so Fat

From www.thefitcast.com (I am going to blog a bit more)
Quote:

Do you remember when we talked about how the shape of your dog can reflect the shape of you yourself? Well, this doesn’t count. But damn is it sad. Just think about the danger of this to your dog, people can be really stupid and lazy sometimes. Craig Ballantyne has talked about just going outside with your dog and running around to get some exercise, not only will you be helping yourself, but your dog will love you for it too.

Now here is a picture of a 24 Hour Fitness gym (the same company as the gym John goes to). Escelators outside of the gym? Are you kidding me?
Sadly, this is America in a nutshell, and its spreading. Europe is next in the perfect storm that is laziness and obesity.

The other day a person at the gym asked me for a particular bar. When I relied that it was with the cable machine on the floor below this person wanted me to go get it & said "I like to stay on one floor."

Next I expect someone will request treadmills be brought to the stretching area just for them.

Those were both on Digg (1 & 2). The top picture is from an MSNBC "Picture of the Week" . The original caption includes a quote from the dog owner saying, "I'm on my way to the gym myself. I wanted to make sure [Armani] got in a workout before I left."

I could see the down escalator after a leg day. My new office is on the second floor and I take the stairs everyday. Just as fast as the elevator.

That's freakin sad. It's like people that circle the parking lot to look for the closest space at the gym so they can go in and walk on the treadmill. I think that's another reason machines are so popular, they're not only easier to perform, but easier to set up, you just move a pin instead of moving plates, and you can stay on your fat ass. If you're not going to work, stay home.

My workplace is on the 8th floor and I always take the stairs down to the 3rd floor at the end of the day. Mind you, I don't take them going up, because that's a few too many flights.

I see a number of people in my neighborhood driving their trash cans to the ends of their driveways and/or driving to get their mail. Granted, we do have long driveways, and it's a rural area with fairly large properties, but still... they ain't THAT long!

At my school you have 2 options to get from building A to building B..

Wait in a lineup, to take an elevator, that is FILLED each and everytime. Also, the elevator stops every floor usually.

Or

Walk outside for about 2 minutes on a nice path.

Somedays I swear im the only person walking outside.

I notice the same thing at the movie theater. I have NEVER seen anyone walk up the stairs but me.

Also, at the library a few days ago, I saw a book:"the no sweat workout plan".Fuck.

Okay. I'm in denial. The 2nd picture clearly shows these two guys trying hard to climb up an escalator that's moving in the opposite/ downward direction, doesn't it? :p

I always take the people mover option when it's the quickest route. Walking up an escalator or walking on the flat people mover treadmills (usually at airports) just gets me where I want to go faster. So, to me it's all about getting to where I'm going the quickest way possible.

thats is just sad, yeah i've seen the car dog walk as well, and i was just speechless. I think i made the women uncomfortable as i was staring at her with a look of simple disbelief on my face , so its not just America that is getting lazier.

People keep saying that social security wont be around by 2047 but I don't believe it. Most of these obese fat fucks will drop off long before they can collect on it. America is a product of its own decadence now the majority is only a reflection of what this society has become, gluttonous, materialistic, and decadent. Feels good to be the new Romans doesn't it?

My first gym was on the second floor of the building that it was in. I used to wait for my clients right in front of the elevator doors, and if they came walking out of the elevator before our session instead of taking the single flight of stairs to get to the gym, I'd punish them through the workout

The problem is, we are inventing medicines and medical procedures that are increasing the life spans of these "fucks"............

...that are being increasingly covered by my rising insurance premiums (up 50% in the last two years).
