I dont keep an online log anymore but I do keep track of progress. Ive been doing some SM training the last few months and the iron gods were strong today so I decided to post today's session, as I feel I will be ready for some of the August contests in either MD, PA, or VA. Right now the one I have my eyes on is MD Strongest Man but we will see. I will have oly camp in June so I will be putting more effort into that, but afterwards, Ill be getting ready for the SM contest.
So I was training today, and this is what I did today:
Log CJ: (I jerk this thing, no way can I strict press it)
Worked up to 230*1
*Good to go here (I need to do 200), just need to get conditioned for it
Yoke*50ft
460
510
560
600 (40lb pr)
*Need 710 for the contest
Stones to a 54in platform:
225*2
245*2 (20lb pr)
260*4 (35lb pr)
270*2 (45lb pr)
*Need to hit a 350 stone, shit. I popped these stones 4in above the platform though so theres more in me.
Today was good. Im bruised, beat, and tired.

and start repping out 200. if it's for reps, you'd better be conditioned to reps.
how are you sorting out your training? one event day, and then other workout days?
you might need to keep in mind that a lot of the stones are stone runs, which means you're going to want to work on loading all those stones consecutively, as fast as you can.
I can't remember off the top of my head, I will have to get back to you.
I think its sometime in late august or september so you have a while.
If you want you can check for yourself at the official North American Strongman website: www.nastrongmaninc.com and then go to the message board and there will be a post about nationals. I would do it but work blocks my strongman message boards.

Wow. Great. Where are the comps in MD/PA? That's in my neck of the woods.
The MDSM is in Waldorf, MD.
As far as Nats, that would be something if I qualify in my first sanctioned contest. Right now I have the current contest in mind and we'll see what happens from there.
I will be doing an OL comp before this SM meet, I do know that, just dont know which one yet. Im more concerned qualifying for nats on that.
As far as training its setup like this:
Day 1: Events
Day 2: Lower body
Day 3: Upper body
Day 4: OL
The upper and lower days are basically to address weak links in OL and Events, as well as just stay up on gym lifts.
