Default Muscle soreness - I 'miss' it....

I may be one of those sick freaks that actually likes the feeling of muscular soreness that you get from a good workout. However, I really don’t use it as a yardstick in which to measure the quality of my workout the night before. That being said, I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t sore this morning from my workout last night, Workout A from Break-In on NROL. I did more weight than I planned on doing for my squats and static lunges. I also squeezed out more pushups than I thought I could do. However, today I feel almost nothing.

When your body starts to adapt to a particular program/exercise/rep range, is it then that you no longer start to feel sore the next day after lifting?

Or did I simply not work hard enough? I was pretty whipped after the session, and honestly I thought I had put forth a pretty damn good effort in the gym.

Do any of you ever get ‘disappointed’ when you’re not sore the next day after lifting, especially if you had a particularly good workout?

Thanks all,
Scott

I totally ignore soreness as an indicator of anything. I find that I get sore at random times. Usually when I have layed off a particular move for a while or when I do something totally new. But, in my opinion, soreness doesn't mean much one way or the other.

I mean, if you really want to get sore, there are plenty of creative ways to change the exercises you are performing.

Oh..to answer your question, no, I'm never disappointed when I don't get sore. I never really think abou it until..I'm sore.

i hate to admit it, but i also get 'disappointed' when im not sore the next day. i know soreness is not an indicator of strength nor hypertrophy, but i still like to feel it, i guess its just a psychological thing.

I am more sore today after the first B workout in NROL HT1 then ever and I hate it, I can barely move. It means nothing and just makes you walk funny!

HT-1 B is utterly evil. Just wait till the day after you complete the 3x15 pattern.
