Default 1st time ever deadlifting

1st day i've ever tried a deadlift - i worked up to 5 singles of ~ 265...had 2 25kgs plates on each side of the bar

i know i have more in me to pull more weight, but being that its my first day, i really didn't want to push myself to far

i was just horsing around with stances and stuff before i got to any type of heavy weight...i tried the sumo stance, that was fun, i ddint' do my highest weight with it. i just stuck with the double over hand grip throughout.

it was fun...can't wait until i do these again
i'm gonna spend some time on my technique before i try higher weights

two 50kg plates on each side of the bar is 440lbs

I'm confused. But even 265 is impressive for your first lift. It took me a long time to get up to 265.

Good for you, keep it up.

You said you had 2 50kg plates on each side in the original post, that's where the confusion came. I did a double take too. But still, 265 is very impressive, welcome to the wonderful world of deadlifting. Prepare to get stronger and get weird looks at the gym.

nice work, 265 is very solid for your first pull. Deadlifting is awesome, you'll learn to love it.
