Mahler’s Monday Morning Motivator # 26

Good morning, guys. It’s hard to believe that this is number 26 and that I have been doing this for a half year now. I searched my files and came up with a mixed bag of quotes, mostly from sports figures and I think there are a few thought provoking ones. I hope you agree.

"If you are not big enough to lose, you are not big enough to win."
- - - - - Walter Reuther

"The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win."
- - - - - Roger Bannister

"I don't care how good you play, you can find somebody who can beat you, and I don't care how bad you play, you can find somebody you can beat."
- - - - - Harvey Penick

"You can't be a winner and be afraid to lose."
- - - - - Charles Lynch

"Even as a fierce competitor I try to smile."
- - - - - Magic Johnson

"It's not necessarily the amount of time you spend at practice that counts; it's what you put into the practice."
- - - - - Eric Lindros

"Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened."
- - - - - Unknown

"It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not."
- - - - - Unknown

Have a great week and lift, practice, ride, swim, run (or whatever it is you do) hard.

In Fitness & Friendship,
Mahler

Thank you Mr Mahler. Needed this today. My neice, who was in a car accident 4 weeks ago, is having open heart surgery today. Need all the motivation and encouragement I can get today. You provided some.

Thanks Johh, and all the rest, for your prayers and support. Prayer is the most powerful tool we have.
Just got word that Kaitlyn has come out of surgery, and is off the heart bypass machine. They say this surgery went better than the one after the accident to repair her aorta (I had posted this over on MH when it happened). The prognosis looks great for her recovery! Praise the Lord...

I bet Mahler's thinking that your posts match his intentions of motivation perfectly. Hardly a hijack.

Sounds like a tough girl. With an Uncle like you, sounds like she's gonna be fine.

db,
Hijack? You just made it so much more meaningful.
And, you made my day to boot. Great news.

Give her a hug for me.

Thanks guys. Really can't thank you all enough! Kaitlyn was taken of the breathing machine last night at 5 PM, and is expected to make a great recovery. She IS a tough kid. I am going to be sure to let her know how many people that she doesn't know were praying out of love and concern for her, 'cause that is what it is all about - Love for each other. God must have plans for this little one; just as He does for us all. Thank you all - God bless.
