Default question of strength

this may be a broad question, but i was wondering.. if a person were to lift weights strictly in the 1-3 rep range for a period of time, and lets say their 1RM of their major lifts increased by 20lbs, how would it carry over to their strength of their 8-12RM ? would it increase significantly even though that rep range hasnt been directly worked in some time, or would it have a smaller affect?

It would increase to some degree, but depending on you initial conditioning the increase could be smaller
