Default Is 8 weeks enough to make a noticeable change?

Hey folks,

I've been absent more than I would have preferred due to a massive work schedule, sick kids & wife, and other energy draining issues. I've still stuck with my workouts the best I could though.

Here's where I need to tap into this vast fountain of knowledge you all possess. My sister and her husband just won a trip to Jamaica and they leave in 8 weeks. Jeff (my B-I-L) has been wanting to get in shape, but hasn't followed through for one reason or another. However, this trip has sparked the fitness bug in pretty hard. He's been following the "Body for Life" program for a week or so and hasn't deviated from it one iota. (My sis would tell me if he's cheated, )

My question is this: Can he make a noticeable change in his physique so he won't be self conscious at the beach? Obviously, everyone starts at different levels, but regardless, is 8 weeks enough time for one to make a change in the way they look that will make people who haven't seen him w/o a shirt on for some time say "Whoa! You've been hitting the gym, I see!"?

Thanks all,
Scott

It's definitely enough time to make a obvious difference from where he is now. Depending on what he has under the blubber now will be the biggest thing on if he gets the "wow, you're jacked\thin\whatever" comments or not.

Hi Scott,
Yes. People will notice in 4 weeks, if he sticks to it.
