Default new to TT

Craig,

In reading an answer you gave to another post, I think I have been not doing my intervals properly. I have been (treadmill) warming up for 5 minutes from 5.5 to 6 mph at a 3% incline, then doing intervals between 8 and 8.5 mph for 35 seconds followed by 55 seconds at 6 mph.

By your posting, I think I have simply been aerobically training instead of doing the TT that you suggest. Yesterday I did this workout: warmup for 5 minutes (6 mph) and then intervals of 45 seconds at 9 mph followed by 1 minutes at at a 4.5 mph light jog. I did 8 of the 2 part intervals and then cooled down for 3 minutes.

Is that better, how can I improve on it. (I was tired after the intervals yesterday).

Thanks!

Hey Ben,

Take 'er all the way down to 3.0-3.5 for the recovery.

Other than that, you are set.

Don't let anything take away from the quality of the work interval!

Default Will do

I think it just seems counterintuitive at first to bring the rest periods so far down. Thanks for the advice, I'll lower the lows and try to pump up the highs.
