I've gotten interested in training for Scottish Heavy Athletics. You know, where big guys wearing kilts get together and throw heavy stuff around for fun. I'm not Scottish and I'm not heavy and I'm not in the kind of shape I'd like to be in so this will be a challenge. I've lifted weights casually for most of my adult life. My plan is to train heavy with the weights this winter and then start tossing puds around in the spring with a training partner who lives nearby. Is anyone here familiar with this sport that can offer help with an effective plan? Oh by the way, I'll be turning 45 this year and there was that little episode with the heart attack last year but I'm actually in better condition because of that. Yes my cardiologist knows that I'm into heavy lifting and is giving me thumbs up.
