Default Meal Program Issues

The book gives us a shopping list of various foods to get going on the program. why, at the end of the book, when they detail meal programs, do they not use the shopping list ingredients? much time and energy could be saved from having to fit the food from the shopping list into the program list. Maybe i missed something, but what do i prepare these foods with? I'm well aquainted with the P+C/P+F formula. the quinoa, for example is not mentioned in the meal program and the also use other nuts and other various foods in place of the list...

my big concern is how much cash it's going to take to accomplish these gains. I spent about 130.00 on the shopping list from the book, and that was going short on spinach and some of the fruit. i could have added another 15 bucks to make it the complete list. I'm not sure if this list will only cover me for a week or if it will be two. If im spending 130 a week, thats a bit extreme to me. i could be riding around in a brand new FJ Cruiser for that kind of cash...
