I live in Lawrence and I'm actually employed by KU. What does HFI stand for?
KU does not offer any kind of associate's degrees, to the best of my knoweldge. I've known some people in this department, though:

They are very, very smart.
I know one other guy who trains people in some old, shelled out warehouse. No website. He is one baaaaaad dude, but I didn't even know he did that until I'd known him about a year or so. He's very discreet. Apparently, he is very well respected in the field. The IMS guys know him well.
But overall, what you are talking about is not something I know much about.
