I know I've see this answer before but I can't find it anywhere.
Anyone know?
*edit* let me elaborate a tad: I've put on roughly 4% bf during my bulking phase. What does this (roughly) equate to in pounds of flab? I understand the variables involved with different people, etc. just looking for a ballpark. thanks.

Multiply your bodyweight in pounds by your bf% - the result is the number of pounds of bodyfat.
To find the pounds accounted for by 1% point, divide the answer above (pounds of body fat) by the number of percentage points in your bf%.
Example:
A 200 pound man has a bodyfat % of 13%. Multiply 200 pounds by .13 - result is 26 pounds of bodyfat.
Then, divide that result, 26 pounds, by 13, resulting in 2 pounds of bodyfat for every percentage point in that person's bodyfat %.
Hope this helps.

Took me a while to understand what you were trying to do with that math. It would have been easier to say, take your body weight and multiply it by .01 to get the weight of 1% of your bodyfat. Although why you would want to do that still escapes me.

your lbs per % isn't going to hold true
ie 200 * .13 = 26/13 = 2lbs per percent point.
if he puts on 20 lbs and 4% Bf.
220 * .17 = 37.4/17 = 2.2lbs per percent point.
So as weight and BF% change so will the lbs per percent point.
I don't see much of a point of calculating that.
Og.

(Current Weight x Current BF%) - (Original Weight x Original BF%) = #'s of fat put on while bulking.

In my kinesiology class my professor compared fat to a pound of cotton balls, and muscle to a pound of bricks. Everyone probably already knows this, but I liked the analogy so I decided to post it. Sorry, irrelevant reply.
