Default Cycle time between bulking & cutting

Hi,

I was just looking for other peoples thoughts on the optimal time to bulk and then cut in order to keep the body fat gains to a minimum? I realize everyone is different, but is it better to try and light heavy, eat more for six months and then cut or go a month on and a month off? Opinions?

Thanks.

The best situation is one thats a bit more gradual so that you dont ever have to 'cut' or if you do, its not durastic.

It depends though, if you are really skinny your going to have to just plain old eat alot of food and not worry to much about fat gain for the time being.

I agree, it does depend. Just try to minimize fat gain during a bulk, and cut when you feel you gained too much fat!

Ive gone has high as 2500 consitantly over. But really, 300-500 over is fine unless you are a beginner.

This is just because beginers have the ability to gain more muscle quickly, so they need more calories to support that. But a more advanced person can only expect to gain 1-2lbs of LBM per month.
