Default Decline chest supported rows?

So, on a norwegian forum, a guy presented an exersice which he said was very good for the back. It got into a big argument about wheather or not it was dangeoraus for the back.

Basicly you stand behind an incline bench which has about 20-40 degrees incline. bend over so you lay youre self down on the bench, tilting downwards. Lift the weights off the floor in a rowing motion. How much incline you have on the bench depends how tall you are, make sure you have you're hips high enough to not bend you're back while doing this.

Any thoughts? This caused a major debate over at the norwegian forum, but i dont know who of thos guys to listen to.

If it's steep enough, you are no longer doing horizontal pulls....you're now doing lat pulldowns (vertical pulls).

As long as your low back is neutral it's safe, but it seems like alot of effort for something that isn't a core lift anyways.
