I am just curious what has been the craziest or most intense workout you guys have done on vacation due to lack of a sufficient gym. I was in Denver for the weekend and my hotel's gym was not optimal for heavy lifting or sprints. So at night I ran sprints and stairs in the hotel parking garage. Want to hear your stories.

Pull-ups in the underground parking lot in Boston with a packback full of books. People looked at me like I was insane...

I was in SC for a week for training in June of last year. My hotel was lame, but the mountains called my name. I spent Monday (at class) researching all the parks near. Monday night I drove around them and got a timing on how far they were, and when it got dark etc.
Tues-Fri I would get done at 4, drive like mad to a mountain, and run/hike untill dark. Get back to the hotel about 9-10, soak in hot water while eating something for 30 min and collapse.
Chalked up 2 mildly sprained ankles and a pain in my shin that didn't go away untill oct, 20+ miles of trails, 400+ pictures, and lost 6 lbs that never came back.

I just returned from a week in MAN-O-War Kay, Bahamas in June. Awesome! Lots of reef diving and spear fishing, along with too much Kalick (local beer) and rum.
I did manage to workout 3x while there. Here is my routine which would also work at home or gym.
There was a .1 mi trail between the house and the boat dock, I would run that back and forth 20x. Then utilizing a horizontal member of the overhead on the dock for chinups and the vertical member railings on the dock stairs for dips I did this ladder routine with no rest between exercises:
2 chins
10 pushups
50 crunches
25 squats
10 dips
Rest 1 minute or less then;
3 chins
15 pu
50 crunches
25 squats
10 dips
Rest 1 min or less then repeat. Each time doing 1 extra chin and 5 extra pushups up to a count of 6 chinups. You end up doing 20 chins, 100 pushups, 250 crunches, 125 squats, and 50 dips (not to mention the cardio). That was one set. Rest for 3 minutes and do it all over again.
Between that and all the diving I did I stayed at weight and in ok shape despite the crazy diet and partying. I also speared the largest fish of all the brother-in-laws, nephews, and father-in-law - a 15# Nassau Grouper!

Sprint intervals in the hotel parking lot. The parking stripes gave me perfect distance markers. Got more than a few strange looks and one police car drive-by

I'm going on a cruise next all next week. They're supposed to have a workout room on the ship. I have no idea how good it's going to be. It's a Royal Carribean cruiseline.
But I know my brothers and sisters will be spending the week boozing it up on board and I'll get teased and taunted for 'working out' on vacation which they will consider crazy.

I was in Tennessee a few months ago for business and felt like running one morning. There's nothing crazy about this story except the look I got from the guy at the front desk when I asked to leave my key and a note telling my approximate route in case I never came back. I couldn't have gotten a weirder look from the guy had I been naked.

Last year I went to Philidelphia to move my sister into her apartment. We were staying at a really nice hotel that had a self proclaimed "luxury workout center." What they meant by "luxury workout center" was a lat pulldown from the 70's and two treadmills. But there was a TV in there! I checked out this gym in town called Sweat that was actually really good. All the memebers there were absolutely massive. They even had the bodybuilder muscle exhaustion screams down. If you are ever in Philly check it out!
