Default My FINAL Cutting Question (I promise, darn it)

This is my FINAL cutting post, I promise. So bear with me while I ask my last question. All this cutting of mine has been a result of a big beach trip I have planned with my girlfriend that is now coming up in about two weeks. I´ve made some good progress but I´m not yet where I want to be. I need to drop several more lbs here before I see her. (I´m currently about 176 lbs).
I am travelling until then and I don´t have access to a gym so I´ve been doing pushups and ab work in the evenings.

How should I do these last two weeks? I´m thinking of dropping my calories really low - like 1500 per day or something- which I know might result in some muscle loss but I figured if I was doing pushups these might limit the muscle loss? What do you guys think? I´m willing to lose a bit of muscle if it makes me look a bit better leaner with my shirt off, so I figured that a very restrictive diet would be the best approach.

Is a very low cal (and low carb) diet the right approach? And how frequently should I be doing sets of pushups and ab work?

Please pardon my naivete on this one and I´d be very greatful for any advice. Thank you! Also, please refrain from making comments about how I should stop cutting or any other criticisms like this. This is my call, and it´s the right decision for me at this time.

Like you said, your diet is key here. Drinks lots of water.

Workouts: How about a full-body, bodyweight routine, circuit style? If you're on the road, you can still do all sorts of stuff. I mean, for 2 weeks worth, do something like :

a- Bodyweight Squats
b- Hindu Pushups (http://www.cbass.com/Furey.htm)
c- Jumping Jacks
d- Bodyweight Lunges
e- whatever your ab stuff is

in a circuit, 3x through, 1 minute break in between circuits.

Just a thought.

I like Ian's idea ... a bodyweight circuit would give you multiple benefits ... and get your diet really clean ... lean proteins, EFAs, and lots and lots of veggies should do the trick ... no cheats!!

You can't get to a gym at all for the two weeks? Just a couple of times per week is enough. Shell out the bucks for a day pass here and there.
