Just ordered Muscle Revolution and Magnificent Mobility
Edit to clarify, after Oldguy spotted my error: it was Muscle Revolution I ordered, not Book of Muscle.
These seem two very popular items and I am very excited about getting them. I don't plan to do Waterbury's programs until after I finish a circuit of NROL, but I just want to read what he has to say. My question is in regards to Magnificent Mobility (a question they may answer in the DVD, but I thought I would ask it here) is how this will fit into my NROL routine. I don't usually do much stretching or warm-up before lifting (luckily I am a newbie still doing fairly light weights, if that is any excuse), and I am very pressed for time during my workout.
If I did their exercises in the morning as a general stretch and mobility warm-up for the day, would it help much with my performance/injury prevention during my lunch workout or are they too far apart?
You can do the mobility movements from MM at any time and they will improve your overall hip mobility, which is a very good thing.
Before your workout, see if you can devote time for just a couple of the glute activation movements. I made time in my warm-up by dropping the general cardio warm-up I used to do on the elliptical machine. I now use that time to do mobility work which also gets me sweating.
Lisa: Yes, that is a good idea. I will see which of the exercises seem best pre-workout. I usually do some HIIT after the lifting, so if I have to, I could cut this down to make room.
OldGuy: Yes, thanks for the correction, it was indeed Muscle Revolution that I ordered! Sorry about that! Book of Muscle was another one I was looking at, so it stuck in my mind.
I'm shy and I workout at a 24 Hour Fitness. I pick several of the less weird looking exercises to do before my workouts.
I do the weird looking ones on my off days (or for when all those pesky women won't leave me alone).
Who cares if they are weird, do them anyway. To the average person things may seem weird but to the pro they aren't. If they help and are beneficial who cares, PUSH THE ENVELOPE!

LD, I hear ya! LOL It's only easy for me because I'm making my clients do them too. I've gotten a bit of a reputation for introducing new and strange movements. It's funny to watch the regular members try to copy what I do. I had a client say to me, "Just please don't make me do those crane things (meaning King deads or single-leg RDLs, I wasn't really sure)."
Vance, Don't take HIIT out. The lifting is the most important component, followed by your HIIT or other energy systems work. Just make the mobility warm-up fit into your time frame the best way you can.
I think sometimes people think it's going to take a lot longer than it does. It can be pretty short if you need it to be.
Lost Dog notices the whole concept of shy goes over Chaney's head.
Shy people don't do butt kicking skips down the aisles of the gym.
Roland, just look at it as one small step towards breaking the chains of shyness. LOL
I'm on the shy side, too (more introvert than extrovert, at least). But I'll do any exercise in a public gym at this point. It's all about desensitization. I think the butt kicks woulds be a good place to start. LOL
Oh, yeah, Vance, you should order BOM, too. After all, it's Christmas!

True. Giving myself a kick in the butt...
Hey! What if I bring my portable dvd player in and use with MM? Icebreaker?
