OK, so yesterday I was doing Bulgarian Split Squats. After some foam rolling, a dynamic warm-up, my first lift of 3 x 3 deads, I went to do my first set. Afterward, my hamstrings and glutes locked up or something. I thought maybe it was muscle cramps or something. So, I tried walking around a bit, stretching, etc. They still hurt today. Going up stairs, lifting my leg up, etc. makes it feel like the hamstrings are locking up. I foam rolled afterwards last night and have been on the foam roller twice already today. Any ideas what the heck this might be and what I can do, other than wait it out? Thanks

Sounds like a cramp to me. How was your hydration level?

Thats what I thought too, but they're still bugging me today. I've had muscle cramps before, but theyve always gone away pretty quickly. As for hydration, I'd been drinking water all day, as I usually do. Couple of water bottles before school, water bottle for lunch, water bottle when I got home around 4, then a water bottle before I started lift, and I was also sipping water during the workout. I just find it weird that they're still bugging me now, more than 24 hours later.

Are you a student? If so, I've found that during finals just the extra time spent working on the computer requires a longer and more thorough warm up and some times it still doesn't feel right.
Sounds like you are knotted up in that area. Body is protecting itself as it does when there is too much stress. I would up the time on the roller and even try a tennis ball or something along those lines. Better yet, find someone with a strong thumb.
At the same time be careful that it isnt a small strain masking itself with spasms.
They weren't heavy pulls: 2 x 3 at 225, then 1 x 3 at 255, so about 65% then 75%. Yes, I am a student, but I'm in HS and its not exams. I'm also not sitting down all the time, I'm moving around a lot throughout the day. Still, I did my normal foam rolling, then dynamic warm-up. I know its not DOM because I've been sore before. This felt like my hamstrings actually locked up. It felt like cramps at first, but even today they're still annoying me. When I go to walk up stairs or something like that, they lock up. I just have no clue what happened. I'll keep up the foam rolling and just let time work its course.
