Looking at my traffic reports in here, I become aware that there are thousands of people reading here who don't register and post.
What are you afraid of? This is a very friendly community who LOVES fitness, and we want to meet you! It's time to sign up and create a profile here. We want to hear your story.
If this message motivates you to sign up, drop back in this post and introduce yourself!
It's the SPAMMERS! They are lurking out there waiting for their chance but they're AFRAID... deathly afraid! They're afraid to evoke the WRATH OF JP! Tales of woe and doom have circulated throughout the Spammer community now and JP has become legendary in his retribution.
Actually, if you got the PM that new sign-ups now get, you would understand why the amount of spam has dropped off so much. I let potential spammers see what we do to them in our lovely SPAM forum and they seem to take heed.
There are still loads of MH'ers reading here but not posting.
I see the strangest people posting links to here, who I've never seen post here.

I lurked on MH for a long time (Right after all the old-timers left. The only guys still left when I found MH were Mahler and Popeye.), then I lurked here for about a year before I registered; I know you regulars pretty well.
As for me, I'm a 21 year old college student at the University of Oklahoma. I've been lifting weights since I was about 14, but I've only just recently paired serious lifting with intelligent nutrition.
A little fitness background on me: I played high school football at 6', 295 @ ~28-30% BF, and during my first semester of college, I dropped a lot of weight. I wasn't into lifting at that point, and I didn't weigh myself (which kills me now!!), but I was really skinny. I would guess that I weighed about 215 @ ~13% at that point. That might sound big, but I really didn't have a whole lot of muscle on me at that point. In Jan of '04, I started eating and lifting properly and went on a 22 month bulk. In Oct '05, I weighed in at 291 @ ~20% BF. Since then, I've been cutting (intelligently this time) and currently stand at 6'2", 270 @ ~16% BF. I'm a shining example for athletes who want proof that muscle mass will NOT hurt your speed or quickness. I'm far more explosive and agile now at 270 than I was a 215.
So now, hopefully, you all know me a little better.
Rotwang is right too.

CRAP, well ok I'm not so great at lurking. But yeah, come on peopel sign up and ask any questions you have. We'll answer em!
No more lurking for me. I have posted over at MH a bit. For the most part I can usually google, search MH forums, or search JP forums for the answers to my questions.
I have been lifting seriously for about a year and a half. Like most newbies my workout lacked compound lifts. I now do a full body 3 times a week, using only compound movements. Since switching routines, I have found isos boring. I have eliminated a lot of cardio, which I feel was definitely hindering my progress.
Due to some recent injuries I have been limited with my lifting. I am 8 weeks post op ACL surgery, but have been rehabbing religiously. My right shoulder has been bothering me lately, due to pushes. However, it doesn't bother me while doing pulls though.

I personally don't post a lot of fitness related stuff, but have learned quite a bit just by being a registered lurker. Anyway, you all must eat, right? We could use some new recipes, right?
Thanks for signing on, Wrobo! We're glad to have you here. Have you checked out the injury forum, led by Bill Hartman. Sounds like we have very similar shoulder problems.
If you ever can't find something, post what you're looking for in here. The search function isn't the greatest, but a lot of us have bookmarked really good threads and may be able to help, or maybe someone just knows the answer right off the top of their head.

Gotta say welcome to my MA boy (native myself)!
Actually, welcome to all you new guys. JP's dying to sell you stuff.
If I had lurked much before registering I probably never would have.. not to say I'm sorry! on the contrary! but I would have been FAR TO IMPRESSED to dare say anything.. but well once we dive in.. it's fun! a great gang here!
It all started back in late 2000 when i discovered the MH forums and since that time i have been a Lurker. I read both sites daily and i think over the years i may have posted a massive 5 times..
I know im out of control..
Anyway the important stuff is i am 28 from Canberra, Australia
Currently 82kg (180lbs) at 177cm (5'9") and have been working out on and off since i was about 16.
Inconsistant is probably the best way to describe my training, getting started with programs (mainly HGM) and then getting interupted by children being born and the fun associated with it.

LOL, for a second it sounded like people introducing themselves at one of those support groups. Just kidding, welcome to the forum.
For those who are still lurking, please come over and sign up. Personally signing up was one of the best things I've done. Sure a lot of my questions are already answered but it's not a matter of Q&A, it's also about getting involved. You guys will find out that this forum motivates you and your motivation will also be appreciated.
If you feel self conscious to post about fitness, there's always the off topic forum.

There are a lot of people who are in your shoes. I originally started working out before my daughter was born...I went a week before she decided the she wanted to be born early. No gym after that, no time for gym after that.
Tried again this year, I got really into a routine and *boom* I took another job. There went my 10am workout and swim. You sort of have to learn to adapt.
Would someone appear as a lurker if they are not signed in? I know I am not signed in often when I view the board. I read and ask questions much more then I do offer support and give advice that's one reason I don't like posting. It's sorta of a I feel like I should be contributing more but don't or can't.

Well, sort of. But a true lurker visits and looks but never joins. Of course, if you DO join (taken care of!), don't sweat the contributing. I know I felt like that at first and just decided to ask respectful questions and I got lots of great feedback. Eventually, I DID feel like offering some thoughts to newer members. I think most of what I did for my first several hundread posts was ask questions.
I'll bite. I guess I'm technically not a lurker since I joined over a year ago, but I can't even remember the last time I posted.
Currently coming off of a 2 week break from my previous workout, a form of EDT by Staley. Did that for 6 weeks and it completely wore me out.
I'm also studying for the CSCS exam to be taken this Spring. Doing it as a second job. I live in a small town in Indiana and I have way too much time on my hands.
I'm fairly new here too, but if ever there was a board to ask questions on without fear of getting ripped apart, it's here. I have to say, new posters get just as much respect as the long-time members.
So ask away!
